I have bred several breeds of dogs, and all of mine have come back in heat about 5-6 months after weaning the pups.

A dog goes into heat on an average of 6 months (give or take some for individual differences). Now from heat to birth is about 2 months (63 days or so). So that leaves 4 more months before she goes back into heat. If this was not her first litter on her first heat cycle, you should be aware of her cycle. It will happen at the same time it normally does.
Every female dog that goes into heat expeiences a "False Pregnancy" (Most just don't show it). Their body cycles the same way it would if they are pregnant or not. A dog needs the 6 month cycle to let the uterus rest.

It depends on the breed of dog or its mixtures and general health. Many modern breeds and their mixtures tend to come into heat between 4 and 7 months after having puppies. The more primitive types of breeds (some sighthounds and pariah types, among others) may cycle only every 11 months like many wild canids.
Between 6-7 months is typical for most common breeds.

Dogs normally go into heat every 6 mos.--so I would think after she is done nursing, puppies weaned, give her six month afterwards. I also would suggest having her spayed-unless she's a prize winning dog and you have people lined up outside your door with money in hand buying a puppy.

Average times between heat periods is seven months but some dogs can cycle as early as every 4 months, some once a year.

DON’T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE!!!
For every puppy you breed and find a home for you are killing a puppy at a shelter because that is one less home looking to adopt one.
Call a breed rescue in your area. A vet will have the number. Ask them how many homeless pure breeds they have right now. Many I can guarantee.
Please, PLEASE, please, have the dog spayed. It is better for her health and she will be a better pet. You will also be saving lives.
If you cant pay call animal control or the SPCA. They have programs to help.
