NO! Why would the other person want to hear you shitting?
"Hey, what's up? Hang on......(big fart and splashing noises). Ok. So what are you doing on Friday?"

Well I'm not so sure about how I would feel about receiving a phone call from someone while they were actually using the restroom, but I don't think there is anything wrong with just being in the restroom (not in a stall). Many people will excuse themselves to the restroom to receive or make an important call while in a public place where it would not be appropriate to do so, such as a while dining at a restaurant. Or it may that the restroom it the only place quiet enough to make the call, say if you are at a club.(some clubs don't allow reentry if you leave, so you wouldn't be able to go outside to make/receive a call). But overall, cell phone use has just gotten totally out of control, some people can't seem to parted from their phone for a second, so it really isn't too much of a surprise that people would actually be talking and crapping at the same time.

It's the first time I'm hearing that some people use cellphones to urinate!I was under the impression that nature had endowed each one with a proper appendix for this purpose (or maybe exclusively for other purposes!)

Lol...I have poor etiquette when it comes to that...lol. Sometimes at work, when I need some privacy, I use my cell phone in the washroom. A couple of times people in the stall next to mine thought I was talking to them...OK now I know it's bad manners...I will stop this practice...lol.

yes, with the acoustics of the bathroom as far as echo go and the ability of cell phones to pick up background noise such as someone peeing or pooping then yes let someone talk and explain to the listener what all the grunting and oohing and ahhs are.
