In our country there is a saying..."man changa to kathauti me Ganga"- meaning When your mind is relaxed you can even feel like bathing in the Ganges(The holiest of Indian rivers) at home.
That's what with this saying....When you're not feeling peace and solace at the place/situation you are in...you feel that the grass is greener on the other side...always remember that the persons at the other side also feel the same way.
So in the end it is all in your mind, how you feel and how you deal with yourself and situations.

The point of that saying is that it only appears to be greener on the other side. In other words, be thankful for what you got. Or as an old Chinese saying would have it, "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it."

I have found that it is, but it's best to make the best of what you have. The grass becomes the same on both sides if you work hard enough.

I think it's all a point of view thing. If your not content with where you are right now and think something else might be better, then the lack on knowledge you have might make it seem better than it is.

No, its actually just a proverb, the meaning is that you'll always be jealous of your neighbor friend etc. You want what you can't have and you take what you have for granted
