While I am quite happy with my Canon Powershot camera, it does not have a dock. The two you have chosen are both very nice small convenient cameras.
While the V603 has higher resolution, I would go with the V570 because of its innovative dual lens with the ultra wide angle feature.
There are so many times where I wanted to take a picture but could not get the whole scene in a single picture. I know that everyone and their brother offers some sort of landscape stitching mode, but using this is really a pain. The effective 23mm focal length of the wide-angle lens is really awesome. For me, at least, that would be the tiebreaker. Good luck with your decision.

i love the canon digital elph, its small, takes amazing pics and has just enough manual controls to really let u experiment with photography, it uses a battery pack with in my opinion is wayyy better then batteries, batteries suck up alot of power when using flash and the higher resolution ur shooting at, the more power. i had a elph for 4 years and bought 2 extra batteries and cards. it never let me down. also the mega pixels are getting sooo much bigger you cant go wrong with a canon

Go to this site:
http://dpreview.com/
and see what they have to say. I just got a Canon Digital ELPH and it is wonderful. Very tiny and easy to carry. If you insist on AA or AAA batteries, however, your choices are limited and your camera will be bigger and heavier than it needs to be.
