Benny Hinn is the person that first came to my mind when I read your question. Here's some interesting stuff that I found:
From a book called 'They Call It Hypnosis' (I just found it now, so I can't vouch for it):
"Stage hypnotists, like successful trial lawyers, have long known their most important task is to carefully pick their subjects-for the stage as for a jury-if they expect to win. Compliance is highly desirable, and to determine this ahead of time, the stage magician will usually give several test suggestions to those who volunteer to come up on the stage. Typically, he may ask the volunteers to clasp their hands together tightly and then suggest that the hands are stuck together so that they can't pull them apart. The stage hypnotist selects the candidates who go along with the suggestion and cannot get their hands apart until he tells them, 'Now, it's okay to relax and separate them.' If he has too many candidates from the first test, he may then give them a second test by suggesting they cannot open their mouths, move a limb, or open their eyes after closing them. Those volunteers who fail one or more of the tests are sent back to their seats, and those who pass all the tests are kept for the demonstration. Needless to say, not only are they compliant, cooperative, and suggestible, but most have already made up their minds in volunteering to help out and do exactly as they are told."
From Wikipedia:
"A person is deemed to be suggestible if they accept and act on suggestions by others. Clearly, everyone acts at some point in their lives by the suggestions given by someone else, but some individuals can be more suggestible than others. Television is one example of this as some individuals see dangerous acts on television and try to perform the acts themselves. This is an example of technological determinism.
A person experiencing intense emotions tends to be more receptive to ideas and therefore more suggestible. Young children are generally more suggestible than older children who are more suggestible than adults.
However, psychologists have found that individual levels of self-esteem, assertiveness, and other qualities can make some people more suggestible than others — i.e. they act on others' suggestions more of the time than other people. This has resulted in this being seen as a spectrum of suggestibility."
So I guess that's one theory. I personally don't believe that people like Hinn actually do healing on stage. That's NOT to say that I don't believe that healing can't or doesn't happen... I just have a problem with Benny Hinn.

My friend every reaction has a cause and it is normally an act or action. It may be a thought of riches, glory, power, control. or many other things. If the money is enough I will take a fall.
The others were right in the thought of gravity if in fact it was a fall that did result from the pull of gravity. However it may have been a result of a pushing force as prior stated which could very well be a mutual agreement between the pusher and pushee ha ha ha
I am afraid you will have to decide this one for yourself and why not try to make others fall just to test your ability. I do recommend you don't push too hard though for it may result in a reaction of an undesirable nature.
Do smile while you are doing it OK. Now have a good day.

SERIOUSLY.....
ON A MORE REALISTIC TRUE IDEA....
It is in fact a force that you or I cannot see but definetly can be felt. What is happening to people is they are getting so "Out of their shell", it's like a spiritual flow floods them and they get all weak in their knees and little tipsy and weebles wobble and they do fall down. Compare to that of being drunk or heavy madicated but absolutely positive side effects and healing (can be from an illness, a physical limit, or spiritual matters). It is also known as being filled with the Holy Spirit (which is responsible also for the speaking of tongues).
It takes much faith, MUCH FAITH, for these things to happen. They just don't happen to everybody & anybody. Only those that fully believe & those that are fully ready to recieve. I have noticed from witnessing some of these occurances, the person sometimes has no recollection of what happened but all they do is smile & cry. They are so happy, it usually has a major impact on their life.... it is weird. It is only wierd because while it is totally unexplainable, it totally happens. Not only on TV but in churches everywhere, especially those dealing the Holy Spirit ( or any spirit for that fact, the Holy Spirit just seems to have the most positive impact on life but then again I haven't been to a church where a different spirit is worshiped, just so you know).
You ever notice how hard it is to understand something that you can't explain. To not know how something feels if you have never experienced it yourself. You just have to sort of the ask person what it feels like. You can ask as many people as you like.... and when all their answers sound pretty much the same, well there you go. No matter what denomination, the feeling is all pretty much the same & because we see what happens, even though we may not experience personally.... I guess it just is what it is.
Getting filled with the Holy Ghost can just make body give out, like weaken or feeling drunk because of it's maginificence and what it brings to you.

Some especially the first ones do it for show to bring in the gullible.
Others from hysteria. or have swallowed the dog and pony show hook line and sinker. and talk themselves into believing and follow what the others have done to show that they have been cleansed even if they didn't feel a thing .
The real thing can happen but I have yet to see any real hysteria from it.

I don't know, but don't get drawn into it. There are definitely dark forces interested in distracting you from God and His glory. I doubt God is not interested in making masses of people fall on stage.

Benny Hinn pushes them down while his assistant quietly hunches over behind them. It's a hilarious gag - never gets old.
Oh wait - that mysterious force you can't see that pulls them to the ground? Yeah, it's gravity.

This is the power of the Holy Spirit at work. It is documented in the New Testament and is practiced in churches that are charismatic.
