Oh boy...this is where my best friend and I differ big time....I let both of my daughters sleep in my bed until they were 3 months old. After that, they went into their own rooms. If you keep them in your bed for too long, it will be impossible to get them out. My friends son is now 4 and a half and STILL sleeps between her and her husband. My advise, get your child into his/her own bed before the 6 month mark....

My baby was 8 month i had to let him scream through the night for about 4 days but ever since he goes to bed at 8pm and gets up at 7 am. It can be very rough to hear your baby scream like that but you may have to get him out of the habit.

My first slept through the night a few weeks after she was born. My second was a little over a month. They didn't really "need" me in the room because they were so young when they started doing this. They were both big newborns and that helped because they ate more than typical newborns and that held them through the night. My mother said that same thing about her kids.

well i have 3 sons all grown up now and they were all good sleepers unless they were sick our 1st son sleep all nite bby the time he was 2wks old a bottle and some rice cereal and he was asleep for aless 6-8hrs but our 2nd son had colic for 6 mos though i would loose my mind we even fould he would go to sleep in his seater if we sat in on the dryer with it running then take him to his bed (some times you will try anything!)
our 3rd son was much like our first they all went to bed ever night at the sanme time i find that helps and it give you time to unwind from the day if that doesnt work Pray!

REFUSED to sleep alone till after the birth of his brother.
Even today, my elder son will not sleep alone in the room without his brother.

My daughter still gets into our bed at about 2-3am but it's because she gets cold and she is 6. My son who is three sleeps through unless he is ill and will then come and crawl into our bed. I don't mind as long as they go to sleep in their own beds. i suppose it is all a matter of individual choice - just make sure you and your hubby agree an what is best for you....
