In order, the three fastest production cars are the:
1) Bugati Veyron 16-4 (253mph)
2) Koeniggsegg CCX (248mph)
3) McLaren F1 (233, if I'm not mistaken?)
There are a few others up on that list. The new Lamborghini Murcielago 640 will be faster than the old one - should be good for at least 210. The Enzo/FXX Ferraris, Lingerfelter Corvette, and a few other cars can top 200mph, but nothing can touch the Veyron or CCX.

The fastest production, roadcar is the Bugatti veyron.
for road going racecars, the Dauer 962, several donkevoorts and caterams, ultimas, radicals and such are all faster around a racetrack.
The fastest racecars are top fuel dragsters in a straight line and f1 cars around a track.
edit: and a pontiac GTO will not hit 210, it would be extremely lucky to hit 175. theyre not very aerodynamic, and 350 hp wont get you anywhere near 210.

The fastest prduction car is now prbably the Koenigseg (spelling?), built in Sweden. It came out a couple of years ago. It has a top speed of over 250mph and is faster than the MacLaren F1, but it hasn't been observed in tests by enough people for it to officially gain the title of the worlds fastes production car. It is, however, asumed to be so by most car enthusiasts.

Someone strapped on two SR-71 Blackbird engines( if not farmiliar with that type of plane each engine is roughly 50 feet long) on a body of some type of car not sure, it broke the sound bariar, but ran out of fuel since the engines required more then the car could hold, and as i know it was scraped after one run

At one time, the fastest production car in the world was the McLaren F1, but I don't know if that still holds true.
However, that's a PRODUCTION car. If you're looking for ANY car, then you could figure out what car set the world land speed record.

While the Veyron is the fastest car today, I have a feeling it will change around November with this British car...Barabus TKR.

My husband just brought the new Pontiac GTO and that car is FAST. 350 Horse power and goes 210 miles per hour. It sounds nice too.

The Thrust jet land speed record holder -- somewhere over 760 mph (when you hit 500 nothing else really matters, eh?)
