Again, for those of you Christians who are intollerant, the name, as spelled in the edition of your bible which I have, "translated from the Latin Vulgate," and "edited by Catholic Schoars under the Patronage of the Episcopal Commitee of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine," (copyright 1948) is NOE. The translations featuring the name "Noah" uses an Egyptianized name convention.

Ash, you were so close, but the points will go to mr.phattphatt at the end of the four hour period, as he was the only one to accurately number the humans as well.
Congratulations, mr.phattphatt. Your points will be sent in the morning.

To all of you who suggest that I read your bible, but then get the answer wrong, here are the verses:
Chapter 7, v2-3:
2. Of all clean beasts take seven and seven, the male and the female; 3. but of the beasts that are unclean two and two, the male and the female. Of the fowls also of the air seven and seven, the male and the female.
I greatly appreciate those who made attempt to answer in kind manner. Those of you who resorted to insults and rhetoric, you are poor examples of Christians.

I'm not christian but Hebrew, so i know I don't count, but i thought I'd have fun trying to answer your question.
Yes there were twos of each animal, meaning male and female, but the second verse describing those animals...
Gen 7:2 "You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;"
Meaning, there were 7 pairs of clean animals, 14 in total, 7 males and 7 females. And of the unclean animals, 2 pairs, 4 in total, 2 males and 2 females.

Noe..didn't take anything. ok?
There is only ONE of "each" animal. He took 2 of most species of animals.
Gen.7:1-3
1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
Luke 3:36 KJV American Standard Study Version does not say NOE. it's Noah.

Its a common mistake that it was 2 of every living thing, because that's what Chapter 6 of Genesis says. However, Genesis chapter 7 spells it out:
"Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate, and also seven of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth."

It's perfectly simple:
2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. (Genesis 7:2)
And "Noe" is not a spelling mistake - it is written that way in Luke 3:36.

Noe, and you must be implying to the Bible, took no animals any where in scripture. If this was not a clever play on names, I would suggest you try to go back and read the scripture again. Read it a few times. I have heard more than one Atheist converted to Christianity attempting to prove the Bible flawed!
