I hate to break it to you but......people who test positive for hiv are still aloud to serve and finish their enlistment. But they must separate after that. Those in the military are tested once a year if they are under 26. Over 26 they have to request. Also, they can request STD tests anytime....but under 26 is mandatory.
If tested positive...they must list everyone they had sex with and Public Health notifies those people that they are at risk of an STD they also must notify the people THEY slept with too and so on until there is no one left.
NO, they don't get in trouble...but they do get cured. Most STDs are curable. Yes, they are still allowed to serve if they have herpes.

God it is amazing how many idiots we have on here spouting off about **** they know nothing about. How many of you morons are EVEN in the military???
Here is the deal you are only tested for STD's when you come in the military and then only by blood test. The only time you are tested for any of the others outside HIV is when you specifically request it by going to the physician and complaining of the symptoms or if female if pregnant.
HIV testing is done every two years REGUARDLESS of you age dipshit. More if you are going overseas (must be tested before going, and before returning stateside).
Those found HIV positive ARE ALLOWED to serve out their term as long as they are able to perform at their mission and job. They are not however allowed to re enlist once their service is complete. So yes there are those who are HIV positive still serving on active duty. However these personnel are not allowed to deploy overseas and are forbidden to continue sexual activity outside a marriage without informing their partners they are HIV positive.
And for reference I know what I am talking about

They have a physical each year but it usually does not include for stds unless they are up for promotion. If found with hiv then they would be discharged. For a std other than that they would get the proper meds to treat it.

HIV is tested annually. They are not tested for other STDs. If they feel something is wrong, they go to the doctor where tests will be run, and the ailment treated.

Hey girl, you like those boys in uniform huh? I figure tey don't have aids, but stds you never know. Aids, they kicked out, but I'm not sure about the others, they get treated and then on to the next I suppose. I don't think they get tested for aids , except when they are first in. I've married 2 military guys. I think it's an addiction, I thought the were safe, etc, etc, but the 1st one loved other women as much as he loved me, I shocked he never gave me anything. Good Luck and play the field but play it safe.

My husband is interior the military and he receives attempt for HIV each and every year and if he wouldn't have a contemporary HIV attempt on document, he won't be able to be deployed. i'm not particular about different STD's or what might want to take position with a favorable attempt.
