Long distance telephone...actually it's FAR cheaper today in absolute dollars, let alone "real" dollars based on inflation and wage increases.

Cheap ball-point pens.

Light bulbs are similar in price.

Airline tickets are worth investigating.

Clothing doesn't cost much more in real dollars.

TV/Radio (over the air, not cable or satellite)

i heard once that in the book Walden, nails are a great expense and wood is cheap. This has certainly reversed, and may point to some things that are as cheap.
