If you mean procedurally, you must first summon help, or delegate it, for anyone injured, If the vehicles can be moved, get them out of the lane of traffic. Request the names & addresses of any witnesses, before they leave the scene. Provide your license and insurance information to the other driver(s), and request theirs. Notify the police, and your insurance agent. Take pictures, if possible. of all aspects of all vehicles involved. Remain calm, and polite. Describe what you did, and saw, without assigning blame, to the police and insurance adjuster. If the vehicles cannot be moved, use warning triangles to prevent other vehicles from becoming involved. Do not assume that you are unhurt, just because you feel no pain at the moment - head and spine injuries can go unnoticed in the immediate adrenaline rush. And last, even if you are 100% certain that it was the other driver's fault, try to remember that you are capable of making mistakes, as well.

make sure that you're as calm as possible so that you can remember details when and if you are questioned. you should always have in your car paper, pen, and if you can, a disposable camera in your glove compartment so that you can take any pictures of the scene before you are dispersed. make sure to take note of the other drivers name, phone number, and license plate. i would also kindly ask them for their driver's license just to make sure they're not lying about their name or phone number, but if you have their plate number, you should be good. (but just in case it's a stolen vehicle or something). also, if it's bad enough, i would call the police, unless it's only a fender bender and the both of you agree not to report it so your freaking insurance rates don't go the freaking roof. ALSO, if you feel that it was more than just a little oopsy-bump, then i would also take a trip to the doctor to make sure my neck and back were ok, because even though you might not feel anything right now, it could show up later, and you'd want to claim any physical/health damages it might've cost you.
good luck if you just got into one...
that would suck!
:(

Act mature, don't get out of you car yelling at the stupid f*ck that hit you. Just have your insurance paperwork and call the cops and other appropriate emergency services as required.

Jody, my car was hit by a person street racing who took off. It really frightened me. I would shake when I got behind the wheel. I went to see a therapist through my employee assistance program at work and it really helped me to calm myself and resume driving with less fear and anxiety.

say as little as possible till you have spoken to your insurance adjuster. Only answer questions you know, don't elaborate or add to the facts by giving opinions.

The truth , If your at fault you should know it. If the other driver is lying, then state your view. The truth always prevails .
