I'm very glad you are at least second guessing having her put to sleep. Look in to behavioral modifcation and contact a trainer in your area. If she did actually bite someone, the best course of action might be to put her to sleep. If you can't afford or don't have the time for intensive training, you don't have many options. There are very few people out there who are willing to take in an aggressive dog and train it properly. I still sincerely recommend, no matter what happens, that you do not get a new dog on friday or any time soon.

There may be some non-profit locally run shelters in your area. The SPCA will put your dog to sleep if you take her there. I didn't think the Humane Society euthanized, but that certainly isn't your only option.

You could also put an ad in the paper and post signs around your area offering a free dog to a good home (but probably not one with children).

First off, I'm sorry about your dog.
You didn't really give enough detail.
But,
If your dog is a biter, and has bitten several people,
then it probably is in the best interest to have it put down.

If you ever do decide to get another dog, please take the time to train it. You won't regret it..

i live in Texas and if she bit someone they would automatically take her away and put her to sleep. if you cant keep her do you think anyone else might control her if not then the best thing to do is to put her to sleep. you don't want to be charged because that dog bit someone or can you live with it if the dog bit a child?

who is making you get rid of her? 99% of dogs can be rehabilitated. See if you can contact another shelter or a dog trainer who maybe willing to take her and work with her. When dog's bite its because they have not been trained properly by their owners. It is not her fault and killing her is wrong. Please contact many other organizations in your area who will help her.

Find a "No-Kill" shelter and take her there. Can you find anyone who wants her? However, if the dog is aggressive, it is better to put her down. I'm sorry.
