It should be the other way around, the guy spends the money on a girl. The least she could do is kiss him! Kissing spreads germs anyway, right? What useful purpose does kissing serve?

Maybe they just think guys should take the active and guys should be a gentleman or something. Some girls are shy or want the guy to know that they're precious and it's not easy to get them or something like that. I'm not sure, but i totally agree with your first two sentences but not the last part about the germs and the purpose of it.

Kissing is a way of connecting through touch. your lips are packed with nerves and there is something so intimate about that small act.
Also...most girls can totally tell if there is any chemistry between two people by a simple kiss. How you kiss a girl is VERY important. It speaks a lot on what kind of person you.

Uh... what girls are you dating? I never "require" a kiss. We are women, and unless a woman is a slut she probably wont initiate the kiss. Not all women are sluts who do it maybe just aggressive but if she rushes into kiss you how many other guys has she done it with?
