the world has always been volatile to the people/inhabitants living at that point of time. and values have also always existed and will always exist.

every individual sets for himself some codes of conduct, some ways of being. that becomes his values. whether or not those valus are in concurrence with others or the society at large is another matter. if it is, reasonable harmony prevails, if it isnt, more of what u call volatility happens.

but, there are some genereal principles of life which are usually adopted by a society as a whole.. they become the social mores. the values of a society. and even among the various hundreds of societies around the world, some common values seem to prevail.

these then are the universal, all time, timeless values which help people to live in a comfortable state of mind. i guess, a general compassion for all things living, being true to oneself, having beliefg in a higher power, are some of the values that are all pervading.

In this volatile world VALUES certainly do exist. George W and company value money and power. They value it enough that the petulant spoiled frat brat was given a country to play with by his daddy's rich friends. GW and company value money enough to start a war over our dead bodies for oil money and for Haliburton's excessive, deceptive no-bid profits. GWB and company would sell out the United States for money to pay the price of admission to the international oligarchy club.
Hell yes values exist.

Values exist in that people value some things over other things. Some people value peaceful coexistence, some value behavior that adheres to a moral code. If there were no values, there would be no suffering. You would not value this thing over that thing, one state of mind over another. There would be nothing to suffer over not having, or having to put up with.

Not so much really.....
You know, the world swings between good and bad
ever with their effect behind them!
At the moment, the humane values are awefully eroded
but, are bound to re-emerge with Nature's thrust.

If you hold on to your values then in your twilight years when you look back you'll find that the road travelled was less bumpy and worth the journey.Worth recounting to the younger generation.

Without values it shall not be worth mentioning .

Look around and you'll see for yourself , for whom they have existed and for whome they have vapourized. YES THEY DO AND SHALL EVER EXIST_ AMEN !

well the word values is itself a relativistic in nature. whats values for u may not be for someone else. what u need to take care is that if u feel in ur heart and believe that what u r doing is right, then feel free to go ahead dude

Values are what you hold dearly close to your heart. Values are not those taught by others, but those imbibed by you during the course of life.
Values are as unique as the individual himself.
