They plan on stopping the war. They will bring our troops home.

They will feel good about this.

They will try to plant trees in the mideast.

Seems like you have already made up your mind,regardless of what anyone else says. But if you are actually interested answer...

They think that the first priority is to secure our own ports of entry, and to do that we need our troops at home rather than playing babysitter for countries engaged in civil war.

If our troops are rested and ready to deploy, then they can face actual threats as they appear, rather than hoping that the only threat happens to come from either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Their focus is to use resources wisely, not carelessly, and to have our troops adequately prepared when they are needed, rather that committed to an indefinite long-term deployment that is doubtful as to its effectiveness for any American goals.

They think the surveillance is good, but must be done according to established laws. And that there is nothing that is being done now that couldn't be done under existing laws. Before you argue that point, check the laws yourself and you'll see that's an accurate statement.

Call me Tired of Conservatives. Apparently, the liberals/Dems/progressives have a better idea than what bush is doing. I don't remember Clinton having our country bombed on American soil, so he must have done something correct. Seems that someone knew about 9/11, but did nothing about it. Seems that someone went to Iraq for no reason & without finishing the job in Afghanistan. Seems someone STILL HASN'T CAUGHT BIN LADEN. Seems someone was about TO SELL OUR SEAPORTS TO ARAB LEADERS TIED TO TERRORISM. Seems someone has not done anything about the economy in this country except put it more and more in debt. However, the conservatives/Repubicans/Neo-cons have been in control of government for 6 years and all of this is happening.

Don't ask what the liberals would do, ask why YOUR government isn't doing what it is suppose to do.

Yea, we do have a plan. First off, DONT MAKE PEOPLE WANT TO KILL US!! Something you have already failed in my good right winging friend. Second, HAVE A PLAN. As in, try to keep the army where it's supposed to be protecting, etc. Don't invest in weapons that will kill innocents. Etc, etc. I'm no strategist or political insider.

I will SCREAM the next time some right winger says I don't want to protect my own home, or that I can't, or that I'm not patriotic because I *gasp* excercise my free speech rights of dissention.

Okay, the troops are in Iraq to secure the oil fields. There ARE NO BANDS OF TERRORISTS waitng for their chance to strike us. However Bush and Cheney have created more terrorists, or as I like to call them, People bombed out of their homes and livelihoods or have watched friends and family members horrifically bombed to pieces. bin Laden did not do WTC. That was our Pearl Harbor created and executed by the Administration, The Navy (The George Washington Nuclear Carrier) and the CIA to shake up Americans and allow them to go after the OIL. THE OIL. not only do they not have a plan to protect the US, they have no concrete plans for any other issue either.

for example, for all their concern about global warming, the dems have yet to put up a concrete proposal for how to cut carbon emissions without destroying the U.S. economy. all they do is gripe about how Bush hasn't done enough.

the entire democrat platform is "we hate republicans" - all vitriol and no substance. if the dems come into power in 2006/2008 i will laugh (when i'm not busy being scared for my personal safety), because the democratic farce will be revealed for what it is.
