Seriously it is not all about money. We are to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the naked, instruct the ignorant, comfort the sorrowful, care for the sick and dying. Are there not things within this scope that one can do without involving money. We are not all called to do the same things. Reading to a child or teaching them to read is just as valid. Why get defensive and presume money is wanted?

Debra

I will admit charlatans abound but we should not let them harden our hearts. Christ would not want that.

Debra. I guess that is right. It's sad but true.
I suppose with todays living, both husband and wife works, they have little time. the most common thing that everyone has is what? Money. Most people don't even know who to give money too, so they can help others. Money has become a way of life in every fashion. Is it easier to take a arm full of groceries to a person, or slip them a $50 spot.? Mosy peeps, would just give money. It's too much easier.
BTW: I notice you had a cowgirl hat. Do you live on a farm? in the country? You have horses?
I have 125 cattle and 7 horses. hahahahah I see a few people that do have. May biggest problem is having or taking time to ride them. This november 10 of us will go to Colorado and ride 200 miles trail ride. :) We will take covered wagons and make a circle camp at everynight.
Some of them are riding from Colorado too Wyoming. How is that for a church camp trip?

They only know what they have been told & taught ! People always want to know why GOD lets bad things happen ? They need to realize that we have asked GOD to get out of our schools , our Christmas celebration , our court rooms , and basically they have asked GOD to butt out of their lives altogether . They don`t need to be asking this if they have asked GOD out of their lives, evidently He has given them their wish !! While good Christians like yourself continue to be led by the Word and put others needs ahead of your own suffer their ignorant abuse . They have never taken the time to study the Word and have assumed the world has all the answers & sin feels good ,and they don`t want to give up the things of the world !!!! They use the " money " issue to defend their love for the world as they have no other defense! !!!!! GOD Bless & keep up the Lords work !!

Hey all churches that I know of ask for money even to fart - there is nothing for them without money - Take Benny Hinn for an example - Why do you have to charge people to do God's work ? I mean money enough to sustain a mansion and a private Jet ?
He is a fart and so are most of the preachers. Most of all, none of the money we give go to the poor - if ti had happened the world would have been a better place long time ago. The best is to give to the poor your self !

Lots of people use the name of God to make money. I was flipping through the channels tonight and this guy was trying to sell colon cleansing stuff. He said he was a Christian on a mission for God.(give me a break) But I know what you are trying to say. Like help someone else out when you know they can use it. Or just do something for some one without any strings.

Experience.
The same reason I presume emails from other organizations are going to ask for money.
That's what they all do. And, why I give money to no one who asks. If I'm going to donate, I'll find something worthwhile, without the solicitation.
There are millions of people with their hands out using the Internet as a virtual street corner.

Because, so many people know not what to do for Christ.
So they try to buy their way to Eternal Salvation.
Others use the LORD's name as an excuse, to suit their selfish desires.
Those who truly want to, but don't know how, will get a second chance to learn about The LORD.
Those who use His name for selfish gain, shall have His Wrath rained down upon them.

Because of the false teachers that have brought reproach upon the people of God and the way of truth, that's why.
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter 2:1-3

I have no problem with religious people doing things for God. I do however, have a problem with the church saying that they are doing things for God, or asking that people do things for God, when in fact what they are truly asking is for your money.

because many churches lately have been run like businesses, the main goal is money, not spreading the word and gods message, that happened with one of the churches i used to attend, a good deal of the time it is money they want from you
thats why i dont agree with organized religion, you get money involved
