To avoid this happening make sure that your computer chair is set to the proper height. You should be able to sit in it, and have your knees just slightly higher than your hips. This will mean that your blood circulation won't get cut off by the edge of the chair. Also, try moving your legs into different positions as you sit there. Any movement of your legs will encourage your muscles to pump the blood back out of your legs, thereby avoiding a sleeping foot.

I have the same problem I had back surgery (not a good one) and now my nerves decide to have a mind of their own. You might want to get it checked out because the nerve could be damaged or pinched. I am going for another (about the 50th one) to try and block the nerve so I don't get that feeling of pins and needles!!! Good luck!!

Your foot "fell asleep," probably. If that isn't it, ask your doctor about Type 2 diabetes. It's an epidemic.
EDIT: Here's a link explaining what it means to have your foot "fall asleep."

Sounds like your foot fell asleep, and you had a lull in circulation..shake it out and try to avoid sitting on it or crossing your legs under you..that is usually what makes it tingle.

If you are not having a case of sleeping foot, you may have nerve damage. If you have hurt it in some way you should get it checked out.

Because you've been on the computer too long and your foot fell asleep. Get out and go for a walk and enjoy the sunshine.

it's 'asleep', whatever position you had it in it didn't get enough blood flow. that's your nerves telling you that something is wrong. stand up and move it around, that'll make it go away faster. try to move your foot occasionally when you're sitting that'll help keep it from falling asleep.
