FASTING - Cleansing of the inner body. Don't be mistaken by the word FASTING. It's not a measure of starvation but inner Detoxification of your body. :D
The three ways our bodies handle toxins are neutralizing, transforming or eliminating them. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals. The liver transforms toxic substances into harmless agents. And blood carries waste to the kidneys or liver, eliminating through the bladder or intestines. Elimination can also occur through sweating during exercise or heat. These are only a few examples of the built-in cleaning mechanisms, working hard to maintain the thousands of miles of tubes and membranes. If all these systems are working well, and we are taking in fewer toxins than the body can detoxify; the result will be vibrant health and long life.
The Result
Ø Mental clarity is improved
Ø Rapid, safe weight loss is achieved without flabbiness
Ø The nervous system is balanced
Ø Energy level is increased
Ø Organs are revitalized
Ø Cellular biochemistry is harmonized
Ø The skin becomes silky, soft, and sensitive
Ø There is greater ease of movement
Ø Breathing becomes fuller, freer and deeper
Ø The digestive system is given a well-deserved rest
People testify that after making changes toward better eating, fasting becomes easier. You could say fasting is a measure of lifestyle.
METHODS OF DETOXIFICATION
Juice Fasting
This is the best choice for detoxification because it supplies an abundance of nutrients, including enzymes and calories to reduce the cleansing intensity to a more comfortable level. Using an enema during a juice fast will flush the lymphatic system attached to the lower colon with water and help remove hardened fecal matter from the intestinal wall, while giving the digestive tract a chance to rest and heal.
Water Fasting
Water fasting demands more calories therefore cleansing will be intensified.
Raw Food Diet
The same cleansing reaction that is experienced on a juice fast will also be experienced on a raw food diet of fruit and vegetables but the process is slower.
Eating Less
This is a good way to start the detoxification process but can require the greatest discipline. Chew food 30 times and eat smaller amounts.
Vegetarian Eating
A light vegetarian diet will also aid detoxification. For example, fruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch and a meal of cooked vegetables with some raw nuts or beans and brown rice for dinner.
Exercise
During exercise the lymphatic system is being flushed and the cells are being flooded with health-giving oxygen. Walking, stretching and light exercise can benefit the body during a juice fast or cleansing diet.
Best of luck on cleansing your body. :D

I want to make sure that you understand something before I tell you what I was told....First, I am not an authority on this subject, nor any type of doctor....so please don't just take my advice..ask someone who is an authority or a doctor...someone once told me that pomegranite juice is a natural anti-oxident that helps fiend off cancer, arthritis and a host of other things....I was told to fast for 3 days, drink an 8 ounce glass of this juice 4 times daily and at least 8 glasses of water...it's pretty expensive though...that's why I never really tried it...a ten ounce bottle of this stuff would cost about $4.00......So, 4 glasses a day for 3 days would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $45.00. I have also head that you can do the same with green tea....and lastly there is a sea weed you can buy that is supposed to detox a person...not sure how expensive it is but I hear it's really thick!!
Again...I am not a doctor and these remedies where told to me by people who are also NOT doctors......So make sure you check before you do something I said that makes you sick or cause problems......Your health is #1 to me!!!!!

One of the easiest ways to detox is to only drink water and eat only brown rice. Do this for a week if you can and see how you feel.
However, it is recommended that you run this by your doctor first especially if you have other ailments/allergies/intolerances etc. or are in less than good condition which may be aggravated by such a diet.

Detox, short for detoxification, in general is the removal of toxic substances from the body. It is one of the functions of the liver and kidneys, but can also be achieved artificially by techniques such as dialysis and (in a very limited number of cases) chelation therapy.
Other less mainstream methods for eliminating toxic substances from the body include the modification of the diet and addition of certain herbs and rituals such as colonic irrigation, juice fasting and sweat lodges. All these methods claim to assist the body's natural detoxification process.
Specific meanings of detoxification or detox:
A form of drug rehabilitation, used to treat alcoholism or other drug addiction. The process involves abstinence to clear the drug from the body, accompanied by social and environmental support during the associated physiological and psychological changes. A non-drug method for detox from drugs or alcohol is acupuncture detoxification.
A class of diets whose underlying assumption is that the body accumulates toxins that must be purged, especially after unhealthy periods such as over-eating during festivals. Toxins, in this case, refer to toxic substances - often of undefined nature - from foods, the environment and the body's own wastes. "Detox diet" is a common phrase, as is "I'm on a detox". See detox diet.
Forms of complementary medicine that claim to remove such toxins from the body: for instance, by herbal, electrical or electromagnetic treatments. As the definition of toxins in this and the previous context has little scientific basis, the validity of such techniques is questionable. There is no evidence for such accumulation; the liver and kidneys automatically detoxify and excrete many toxic materials, including metabolic wastes. Under this theory if toxins are too rapidly released without being safely eliminated (such as burning fat that stores toxins) they can pollute the body causing malaise.
A process by which a substance is made less toxic.

Who knows what to believe!! I look at it this way. God gave you everything you needed to survive right from day one. Go back to basics--water, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, nuts, rooty plants. Of course we know we need calcium and vitamin D and other stuff so supplement with a multivitamin but dont go nuts on single vitamins and overdo it...that can have toxic effects in my opinion.
