A pimple is a type of skin lesion that is caused by inflamed and/or obstructed pores. The most common cause of pimples is acne; however, other causes, such as smallpox exist as well.
Acne is a common disorder that is characterized by clogged pores and pimples in the skin. Permanent scars, as well as pain and itching may accompany the disorder. However, acne is not a serious health threat. Many people with acne are acutely self-conscious about the condition. Frequently affecting adolescents, acne may intensify feelings of shyness that are extremely common during the teen years.
Causes
Tiny pores are connected to oil glands under the skin. These glands produce an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a hair follicle. Inside the follicles, oil carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. A hair will grow through the follicle and out to the skin. When a follicle clogs up, a pimple will begin to grow. This condition is referred to as keratosis pilaris. At this point the pimple is untreatable, however there are creams and lotions available to lessen the inflammation. Any treatment for keratosis is cosmetic because the condition is not harmful.

Misconceptions about acne
It has been suggested that this article or section be merged with acne. (Discuss)
There are many myths about what causes acne. Greasy foods and chocolate are often blamed, but foods have little effect on the development and course of acne in people. It is true, though, that anger and stress affect hormone levels and thus bodily oil production, which can cause acne. People of all ages and races can get acne. It is most common in adolescents and some young adults. 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 24 develop acne. For most people, acne tends to go away around the time they reach their thirties; however, some people in their forties and fifties continue to have this skin problem.

See a dermatologist if it's major enough. If you have like one pimple then just use over the counter creams and astrigents and such. Wash your face twice a day, don't do things to it that'll irritate your pores- they'll get smaller and plug easier. But use a FACEWASH- stuff like hand soaps are way to harsh and they'll irritate your pores and dry out your skin (if you dry out your skin your'll start making more oil to compensate that obviously that's not good). Change your pillowcase every week, and get some sunlight. Don't burn yourself obviously but sunlight can help ALOT.

Puree about ¼ cup of diced fresh cucumber and put the paste on the affected area for about 20 minutes twice a day. Rinse with clear water and pat dry. Keep this up until you see the improvement you're looking for.
Good luck!

1. Keep your hands off of your face or where ever the pimples are.
2. Wash morning, noon, and night with anti-bacterial soap. Rinse with cool water.
3. Wear clean clothes if you get outbreaks on your neck or shoulders or chest.
4. If it gets really bad, see your doctor.

one way to reduce acne is to eat healthy and exercise regularly in order to remove toxins from your body. stress causes flare ups of acne so try different ways to relax yourself. overwashing your face is a bad idea because it dries out your face and causes your body to produce more oil which in turn clogs pores and causes more acne. don't pick at your zits because doing so will cause the bacteria to go deeper into your skin and worsen the acne. refrain from touching your face because dirt, oil, and bacteria will clog pores and cause more acne. if you want, you can go to a dermatologist and see about acne treatments such as Differin, Benza-Clin, Accutane, or maybe even photodynamic therapy.

Regarding pimple problem, have you ever tried using facial foam wash? Alot of girls in earth also have the same problem. If it does not work using facial foam, don't bother about it. The more you concern, the more it grows.
