It's possible I just have confidence issues, but I always seem to run into the same thing. I develop an interest in a girl, work up the guts to ask her out and alot of times I face the "I think of you as a big brother" response. This especially seems to be the case when I develop such feelings for a girl I've known for quite some time. I'm open for any suggestions which might help me change my self-image or whatever is needed to fix the problem.

a brother isnt bad, but it may not lead u to be a boyfriend.. try to flirt with the girl u love and c if it works.

You are probably easy to talk to and there is nothing wrong with that. Your image is probably fine too. Where you make your mistake is in being a confidant to these girls. You listen to their secrets about other guys. Try being a bit forward and saying, "hey, I'm just not into him, ok. So let's talk about something else." If you are feeling particularly bold you can further suggest, "I'm attracted to you, so what do you think about us?" That should stop the brother talk dead in its tracks if they have any hidden interest.

DONT Change! Being someones big brother is a good thing! it means they trust you, that they can tell you anything and know you will listen and be on thier side! Someday you will get a little older, be out of school and one of those girls will show up in your life out of the blue and ask you out and by then it will be too late for her because you will have someone already.
Whatever you do DONT CHANGE!

huhn its not ur looks its just u act more like a friend... dont be afraid to flirt .... i had the same problem with this guy jorge he said i think of u as a sister or a really good friend i dont like you that way! but....... i didnt flirt and then after that i started to flirt and be more umm.. like gigglie around him and like a month later he asked me out the problem was that then i already had moved on and had a bf but thats beside the point soooo yeah flirt a little

I know a guy like this. He's my friend actually. You should stop being the "nice' guy who listens to everyone's problems. Girls like bad boys, as bad as that sounds.

dont listen to what any girls tells you on her. i bet that when you meet a girl your interested in, you build up a friendship with them first. and once a girl sees you as a friend you have no chance with her. girls dont understand that guys become friends with girls cos they always want more. make it clear when you meet a girl that you are interested in her. dont open yourself up too much. dont come on too strong. make her wnat more of you. and let her know you dont need another friend!

i think of my boyfriend as a brother. he's close to me, is what that means. it's a good thing.
