One of the most noticeable crack cocaine symptoms is burns on the crack user's skin and/or clothing. Crack cocaine is most often smoked through a glass pipe, however the process of doing so is relatively difficult. The crack must be heated to a very high temperature in order for it to melt and produce smoke. Once the crack is emitting smoke, the user must inhale it, but in the process often singes his/her eyelashes and eyebrows. The heat from the pipe can also cause their fingertips to burn, leaving visible marks or scaring.
The internal physical crack cocaine abuse symptoms are more difficult to detect. These symptoms include cardiovascular symptoms as well as physiological symptoms such as irregular heartbeats and depression. An irregular heartbeat that is produced by crack cocaine use can lead to heart attacks, strokes and possibly death.
In addition to these physical crack cocaine abuse symptoms, there are also emotional symptoms. A person who is using crack on a regular basis will start to lose connection with loved ones and seek lower companions with whom they can use drugs and participate in drug-related activities. Drug addicts often begin to steal money and valuable items from close friends and relatives and burn bridges with people who were once very important to them. Addicts also lose interest in healthy activities and stop participating in areas such as work, school, family, and social responsibilities. The use of crack can cause blood pressure increases that can cause strokes or heart attacks, and in some cases these effects have proven fatal.
meth makes the user giddy, happy, exhilerated, paranoid, do extremely weird things.

My brother was a VERY well hidden drug user. It was hard to tell. Here are some after-the-fact things that we noticed:
1. Even though he was very successful at work, he was always broke - stole money from his wife's savings account.
2. Liked to go out VERY late. Nothing good ever happens after 2am right?
3. Lost weight quickly (indicates use of uppers like cocaine and stuff)
4. Drinks a lot of caffeine abnormally high amounts like lots of red bull (stops him from getting to low when it is not possible to use)
5. Super fast answers for any question about what he has been up to. Most people have to think about what they did each day - indicates that they are always thinking about their excuse.
Hope that helps.

Erratic behavior, extreme highs and lows, watery red eyes, rapid weight loss, nervousness, anxiety, inability to sleep are some of the noticeable signs of drug use like meth. The abuse can cause loss of a job, increased absences at work or school, failing grades, decreased overall performance of daily tasks, the ability to finish projects or chores, stealing, never having any money, and lying.

Depends ALOT on the drug. If you're suspicious of a drug in somebody try looking for a site that can give you information.
But some general signs will be avoiding other people, hanging out alot with known drug users, being secretive, shutting out others, spending lots of money, etc.

Different drugs produce different side affects, but a few things to look for are;tiredness, withdrawel from family and friends, secretiveness, irritability, avoiding direct questions about it.If they are sniffing something, you may be able to smell it on them, and see residue in their nostrils.Loss of appetite is also a sign of some drug use. However, mariguana will increase appetite in some people.

It really does depend on the drug. In almost all drugs you will see a mood change, such as mood swings, irritability, and agitation. With speed you would find a change in appetite, dilated pupils, inability to sit still, "chewing" the inside of the cheeks. With major painkillers (such as Oxycontin, Morphine and Demerol) and Heroin (plain Heroin and "China White") you will find extreme drowsiness and uncontrollable scratching, also hot flashes and/or sweating. With Pot, just your basics: "munchies", drowsiness, bloodshot eyes, "cotton mouth. Hallucinogens: dilated pupils, the need to laugh, the need to touch things.

According to a policeman, if the suspect can not follow with his eyes a pencil being moved up and down in the field of vision, he is on drugs. I have no independent data on this, or specific details of what to look for.

Don't be scared to confront the person, but get yourself a "black belt" in information. Do all you can for them, point them in the right direction

Unusual sleeping and eating habits, glazed, or unfocused look in eyes, change in mood (like uncharacteristic mood swings), or change of friends (new ones that look suspicious, and sometimes lost contact with former longtime friends), a complete change in behavior, slipping of grades (at shool) or work performance. Really it depends on the drug.

I'm not really an expert but if a person has red eyes, and looks almost like it hasn't fallen asleep in a week or two. I just known it at this seminar thing.
