like a cake made with splenda? or diet soda?; i found an ant in my box of splenda sugar, but unlike the time when i found a whole army in my tub of real sugar.

Re: ants. I received a tip last week that Aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in NutraSweet and Equal was originally developed as an ant poison and that it works great if you sprinkle packets of this stuff around wherever you have ants and want to get rid of them whether in th house or out in the yard. It supposedly works miracles on all types of ants including Fire Ants. Since many people have ant problems I am passing this tip onto you even though I have not yet tried it personally. Splenda does not fall into that category as it is made from sugar and Aspartame is a chemical compound.

Ants will eat all sorts of thing. Real or fake it does not matter.
Your lucky there was just one ant. If you left it alone and it got out of the bag alive within an hour or two there would of probably been many ants going back and forward.

Fireants eat everything. They got into my low calorie hot chocolate mix. Apparently, they weren't satisfied with the artifical sweetner so they chewed pinholes in every single envelope. I discovered it by finding dead ants floating in my hot chocolate. I was mad!
