Because the dna is too close a match. The Amish are having terrible problems with inbreeding. They are trying to "recruit" outsiders to marry into certain groups to thin out the dna again so they can have "normal" babies.

With inbreeding you and the genetics of the individual that you are 'inbreeding' with are very similar (depending on how closely related you are). To create a healthy child you need variation in genetics... if you are going to 'inbreed' I wouldn't recommend any closer then third cousins... but even that may be too close.
