Technically, there would be an equal number. But moms usually have custody. I believe that it is something like 3 times as many moms as dads but the Child Support Enforcement office in Family Services should be able to give you good statistics.

I feel that there are more single mothers than fathers. We see it on a regular basis because when a relationship or marriage does not work, more than likely, the women have the children and have to raise them by themselves. There are many single fathers out there as well but it is more common to see single mothers with children. Also, anyone who has to raise their children alone should be commended because it is not easy to go to work then come home and have to take care of the children and the home by yourself.

I would say it is equal or close to it. Cause if the mom is single, that means she is not married to the father of the child, thus making him a single dad.

More women of course. it takes responsibility to accept to being a single dad. men run from commitment and responsibility which women dont shirk. so more singel moms

I'd say women, including myself. I'm a widow though. I wonder how many moms have become a widow before age 40??
