Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, etc.) has long been used as a prescription drug for arthritis and is approved for over-the-counter use for pain and fever. Compared with aspirin or acetaminophen, its advantages and disadvantages pretty well cancel out. Ibuprofen is about as toxic to the stomach as aspirin, and more so than acetaminophen. It doesn't cause ringing of the ears like aspirin or severe liver disease like acetaminophen (in rare cases). It appears to be almost impossible to commit suicide by overdose with ibuprofen. But concern has been raised about kidney problems (mild and reversible), and ibuprofen is sometimes more expensive than the alternatives. It's the best over-the-counter preparation for menstrual cramps.

At least 400 mg/kg of body weight. That means if you weigh 220 lbs, you'll need to take at least 40,000 mg of ibuprofen to "guarantee" death. That's two hundred 200mg pills, a lot to swallow. But be sure you won't be rescued, or you could end up with permanent kidney and liver damage if you live. I'm sure your life won't improve any if that happens.

I noticed you asked about the same question a month ago. What is going on in your life to consider something like this. Believe me you do not want to try it. I tried several times when I was in high school. My life was completely terrible. I was fat, my face was pimply and I had no idea how to fix my hair. When I did try all it did was make me sick. One time I took a lot of pills, can't remember what they were, and all I did all night was have very bad heart burn. I think I also ran a fever. I would wake up with heart burn, take some Tums then get thirsty and have to drink water. That kept happening all night. My ears rang a lot also. From what I remember, you getting on here asking this kind of question, you are asking for help. You need to find it locally. Go to the first church you see. Even if you don't go to church, you need someone to listen to you, especially if you do not have the money to go seek professional help. I know I was miserable when I was younger, but everything is better now. Just believe in yourself. You can make it through this. Make yourself busy. Get a hobby. I hope I have helped a little. I wouldn't even go there. There are some ppl out there who really like you, and can you imagine how much grief you'd cause them if you commited suicide?! I would hate it if one of my family members just outta the blue commited suicide. And if you are asking this question as a question and not a clue to your death, sorry. I just don't want to see anybody die, even if I don't know them...
