Well, the outside of the box doesn't say anything...I bought Revlon Frost and Glow with the cap. SO FAR, it doesn't look like it's developing badly. But reading over the TEENY TINY PRINT, it says that it should not be used on hair tinted with permanent haircolor...which...MINE IS. What's going to happen?? Is it just not goin to look right??? Or, God forbid, will my hair break in two or something??? It doesn't have any ammonia in it. And not surprisingly, they don't have late customer service to help me. :( Anyone???

Oh, and so you know, the product is for medium to dark brown hair. The only warnings on the box say:

Do not use this product if:
you have sensitive, irritated, or damaged scalp
Avoid contact with eyes
Do not use on eyelashes or eyebrows.
Rinse hair well after application
Wear suitable gloves.
Keep out of reach of children.
Should not be used on chilren.

Of course, you can't always OPEN these boxes before you buy and bust out the guide. GRRR...I don't want something to happen to my hair!

LOL....calm down...I do my friends hair all the time..The only reason it says that is because most of the time when you have permanent died hair...the high lights just wont take. I promise your hair is NOT going to fall out...and you wont come out looking like an easter egg....it just wont take and if it does...the high lights wont be as dark as you had wished them to be...Good luck

It should be ok. Mostly those things take best to uncoloured hair so the result may not be strong or as noticable as it normally would be.

I shouldn't do any damage to your hair at all. If you are really worried wash the colour out now and colour over it with a single dark brown colour.

Good news is it probably won't hurt your hair or make it fall out.
Bad news it probably won't be as light as you want it. But you should leave it on longer than suggested or you COULD damage your hair. Make sure you condition well and in a few weeks it should be OK to get the right kit to get the results you want.

Good Luck!

Well... you don't really have to worry about the ammonia. The reason it probably says that is because it may not be strong enough to lighten the color off your hair. Natural color is easier to remove that color you put on. I don't think it will break off but you need to condition well when you finish. It may lighten but it may not be even or not lighten enough. Sorry, for the news.
But i think you are OK from it breaking off. : )
you can e-mail me if you have more questions : )

First of all what color is your hair and what color did you dye it? Never do your hair at home I didnt when I was younger and I killed it and turned it orange....if you dont know what you are doing dont experiment its permanent.

you might end up with orange where you highlighted it. Just load it with condition and that will help the drying/breaking which should be minimal

You should be fine. It probably just won't color as well as it would if you didn't permenantly dye your hair.
