Both the Bible and Da Vinci Code are fiction.
Jesus probably did have a wife - it was very rare for a Jewish man not to have a wife in those days.

No Jesus didn't have a wife.
If he did he wouldn't have been able to accomplish anything. Think about it. If the Da Vinci code was in anyway true, Mary Magdalen wouldn't have been able to leave Jesus alone long enough to go fishing.

Ok - book is fiction which means it isn't true.
However, Jesus was considered a rabbi (teacher) and in those times, you got married to carry on your lineage. If you didn't, you were basically shunned by society. So, it stands to reason that he was probably married although that is intelligent speculation. If you read the Gnostic Gospels, several times in several books it refers to the fact that Jesus was closer to Mary Magdalene than any of his disciples. It also states in one passage that he kissed her - and part of the remainder is missing having deteriorated with age - so he could have kissed her on the mouth, forehead, cheek, who knows?
However, given the historical context of the times, he probably was.
There is a Roman Catholic organization headquartered in New York called Opus Dei, but it is nothing like it is portrayed in the book. There are no fanatics running around engaging in self-flagellation.
There is some question as to whether the Priory of Sion actually exists/existed or not - or whether it is a modern-day organization which has nothing to do with the RC Church.
Great book though isn't it?

I love it, because this proves that Jesus does have a wife in the future, but it’s not Mary Magdalene, that all these corrupt versions I mentioned promote. Why? The Bible teaches that every born again believer becomes a member of the body of Christ instantaneously when he receives Jesus, I Corinthians 12:13. But he also becomes a member of the Bride of Christ. Every one saved from Pentecost until we hear, Come up hither, Revelation 4:1, is a member of the coming bride. Now, Revelation 19:7 says, let us give honor unto him, for the marriage of the Lamb, and the Lamb is Christ, has come. So the marriage takes place in heaven. Then He comes back to earth to set up His kingdom for 1,000 years, Revelation 20:4, and He honeymoons here with His bride, the church of Jesus Christ. And the Marriage Supper takes place here on earth, because all the saints who’ve died during the Tribulation hour have to be part of the Supper. :)

In my personal opinion, I don't see why it couldn't be true. If we all suddenly found FACTS that Jesus was married, what would be the big deal? Why couldn't He have loved a woman? He was a man, so it's not unusual.
I also wouldn't put it past the church to have purposely 're-wrote' the Bible to fit their needs. People 'back then' weren't sinless. They were just like people can be today; ruthless, power hungry, violent, killers, liars, cheaters. Would it be so unbelievable to think that "man" could've manipulated things to suit their needs at the time?
I think Dan Brown definitely gave me something to think about; that's for sure. I know that tons of people will jump on here saying it's fiction. But if you read the very first page of his book, the Priory of Sion truly exists. You can look things up on the internet about it. It is certainly thought provoking.
Personally, I have some trouble believing parts of the Bible. For the time period in which it was written, I can't understand how Mary wasn't hung the second she announced she was a pregnant virgin. Even if lots of people believed her, I'd think, historically speaking, that most thought she was off her rocker. And thinking about how women were treated and regarded back in those days, it does make perfect sense that men wouldn't want Mary Magdelin to have any sort of position of power in the church. So why not change things to make it seem like she was a 'nobody'? I oftentimes just think about the time period and question how some of those things could have even happened. To me, we're relying on something someone wrote 2,000 years ago. I'm sure the stories got mixed up and exaggerated with time. Just look at some of the differences in the gospels in the Bible. Those men all wrote stuff down, each remembering certain things in certain ways. They each have something different to say, and that's just a handful of people. Imagine how many other people had different takes on things. It's something I can't wrap my mind around.
Just to clear something up though, I do believe in God. I just struggle with the authenticity of the Bible.

There is some truth in that book/movie. Let me list them out for you:
There is a place called Paris. It is in France. There is a museum there called the Louvre.
There is a place called London, it is in England. there are several churches there.
Cars and airplanes do exist.
Opus Dei does exist (though NOT the way it was protrayed in the book).
See, even in a work of pure fiction, there is some truth.

Does it really matter if he had a wife? He was fully man and fully God. Just because it doesn't say "Jesus got married." doesn't mean that it couldn't have happened. It didn't say anything about his life from about age 12 to 33, so why is it too hard to conceive of him as married?
Just because some "church fathers" couldn't handle that concept or the fact Mary (his mother) had other children after Jesus was born (what???!! she had sex with her husband ???!?!?), the perverted sex into being something evil.

theres is some truth and some fiction like the secret society prior of sion is fiction. Because it was proved to be fraud along time ago. Changing the bible happens to be true, Because the church wanted to be male dominated. Last Jesus and marry is a plausable happening. Because there was no celibacey in that day or any hints towards it. celbacey wasnt till 10 centurys after jesus death. this rule was made by pope gregory idk what number he was

it is the opinion of some, but there is no hard proof. This movie, and book for that matter, is based in fiction. It is designed to be suspensful, but if something like this were a real truth, it would have come out before this, not from a best selling book.
