We have to. She growls at little kids. Even the humane society said we have to.

WTF get over it???? lol Would you "get over" the death of YOUR child? NO!!!! Let the tears flow....I just had to put down the most wonderful happy friendly everything cat in the entire history of feline domestication today, and I don't think I'm going to be happy for a while. He was my best companion. I'm sorry to hear about your dog, but don't try to get over it...it's like losing a brother or a son or daughter.

I just read that you are putting your dog to sleep because she growls and snaps, I think is what you said. Before you put her down, see if there is someone who can take the time to train her. It's possible to do. That behavior is not her fault, she needs to be trained and to be socialized. Any other dog you get will be the same. You can train your dog too. I would think you would have to deal with a lot of guilt if you don't try for her sake.
Its early to get a new dog. You grieve to the extent that you love and that's just the way it is. I've lost three of my dogs now -- they've grown old and I've had to have them put to sleep. I cried and cried. You have no reason to be ashamed of being sad and if it is that you just hurt so much that you want it to stop, I really urge you to feel what you feel, cry, talk about your dog, cry more. Those feelings are there and they have to be felt before you can 'get over it'. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Just take a little time to hug your dog and say how you feel. Be very gentle with your dog and with yourself.

Instead of putting the dog to sleep, why not bring it to the humane society. Maybe they have people there that will work at socializing the dog. Then at least you can feel like you tried to give the dog a second chance and you won't have to make the decision of putting it to sleep.

If the only reason you are doing this is because she bites, you need to seriously reconsider. There are other resources, this is a living thing. That being said, whether you go thru with this or not DO NOT GET A NEW PET. The only acceptable reason to end a pet's life is to end it's suffering, if this is not the case then maybe you are not a pet person, or something small like a fish

You cant change being sad, although it can help if you remember how much fun you had together. I had to put two of my pups down within 4 mths of each other. I watched the first time, and was so upset and grief stricken. The second time I decided not to go and watch the procedure and didnt feel as sad. You might want to think about not watching. It can make a world of difference.

Apparently...you seem like your over IT already. Growling and biting seems like you couldn't take proper care and training your dog. You really shouldn't even consider or deserve to get another dog. Have you thought about surrendering your dog at a shelter? Maybe someone else would have a better way with him/her.

first of all, i'm very sorry on your difficulty. it is the worst area of loving your canine. yet you may want to recognize the toughest ingredient for you, is the suited ingredient on your canine. it is the perfect act of compassion on your area. merely concentration on the concept your existence pal is at peace. definite, you may want to get yet another canine yet provide it a touch time. that factor will decision for each individual. What i'd keep away from is getting one b/c curiously like your loved puppy. decide on by technique of personality and compatibility. you're literally not replacing your canine, you're sharing your love with yet another canine that needs a everlasting abode. concentration on the best abode and good cases you had such as your Golden blend which could also help you previous the loss. i have been by skill of this and it isn't person-friendly yet on a daily basis it hurts somewhat a lot less.

I can't say what I think about you now or I will be reported for a violation!!!!! BUT HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF TRAINING!!!!! I feel SORRY for the animal you will be getting on Friday. Being sad is normal especially if you loose someone special to you. My suggestion is to grieve in your own way and know that you dog is going to a better place even if that means not with you. I give my condolences. Just be there when he is put to sleep so you are the last thing he/she sees.

I assume it's for a good reason, like he's very ill. If so, then you focus on things like how he is not suffering anymore. And what a good life he had while he was with you. Probably better than a lot of other dogs. Then search the internet for "The Rainbow Bridge".
