If you want to be taken seriously as an artist, and I assume you do or you wouldn't post this here, I suggest you stay from any style that looks very much like something famous that's already been done. As in this case, Jackson Pollock.

If you're going to paint like Jackson Pollock, you're biting off alot. Depending on your goals, you may need to have some kind of justification for this.

Just to doublecheck, you didn't hoodwink me and post an actual Pollock did you?

It depends on who you're painting for, and what your goals are at this point in time. If you're only painting for yourself, then that's a whole different ball game, and you're off the hook. If you're asking me what I think as an artist, I think paintings need some kind of concept or relevance. That is, the painting would be more interesting to me (and probably to most people) if it did. Some kind of a "hook" that makes it yours, and something that takes into account art history (Pollock in particular).

I'm curious what direction you're looking at going in right now: are you actually trying to paint in a Pollock manner? There are differences between this painting and a typical Pollock. For example, I've never seen a Pollock with lines (this) parallel, nor have I seen one with neatly cropped margins around the edges. There is a distinct way in which he created quirky lines; that was not quite random. A handwriting you could say.

Is this an intentional distinction you're making? I'd like to understand your goals a litte more, and what kind of influences you're looking at.

What are you most interested in, in terms of formal qualities? Color? Emotion?

Maybe you could post some comments/details for us.

Anya, you're dazzling! it relatively is a specified to suited overall performance... My only grievance is the pitching. i'm undecided notwithstanding if it is you, the recording, or purely the character of the music, yet at situations (relatively once you "flow" as much as larger notes) it sounds very slightly flat. yet dont worry approximately it, i'm specific no regular individual would notice that, and that's maximum possibly the recordings fault no longer yours. Secondly, you dont seem projecting as much as you ought to. is this when you consider which you're making a music with a microphone? you have a stunning voice, it is so lyric, and candy sounding.... and your vibrato is coming alongside suited. EDIT: notwithstanding if it is you, i'm specific you would be waiting to spectacular it, somewhat if it is something you're already attentive to. it is so unfair, why cant my instructor be Russian? Mine is Italian, that's sizable whilst i decide to sing Italian, yet i admire Russian lots! the only Russian songs I even have in my repertoire are for the era of Pauline Viardot. have you ever sung any of them? they are spectacular!

I liked the painting but I think it would look better with a white background with a Mirrored frame for movement.

Very modernist. Looks familiar, won't go so far as to say it's a rip-off, but it looks like a print on this side of the screen. Needs new frame.

Looks about like most stuff you see from modern day artists. Give it some real freaky name..."Esoteric Cheeseburger" or some such silly nonsense...and all the little giggle sissy art critics will go crazy over it.

as an abstract artist myself...I thought it had a great deal of potential. I think if u painted to music... or tried some more ..you'd really enjoy your work more.
Remember if u dont like it how can anyone else like it?

I like it. But some people seem to think you copied it. It does have a familiar style. My initial reaction is that it's bold and its got great energy.Keep Painting!
