Why do they? Religion can give you strength, for some ppl, for some ppl like me, its just another excuse to start fighting with one another. Why do ppl (not all) have to think one god is better than another when scientifically none of them really exist? I just dont understand ppl arguing about which god is better, or ppl trying to convince someone into believing in a religion

you are correct: it gives people strength. And hope and confidence. A lot of people feel the need for purpose in life, and it's comforting for them to believe in something that can explain their existence and their reason for existence.
Unfortunately, everyone has their own ideas, and the differences in those ideas always cause conflict. It's not fair for you to say that "scientifically," God doesn't exist, because there is no proof that there isn't a God, and some people really believe strongly in God. It's okay to not agree, just be careful. For some people, God is the only means of comfort and hope.

Everyone believes in something.
Very few things can be known absolutely. That is a consequence of the theory of knowledge.
If we were to stick with ONLY things that can be known absolutely, we would literally die -- we would not be able to survive more than a week or so.
So, all human beings know somethings, and believe other things (and this includes atheists).

Scientifically almost nothing is true. You're a bunch of electro magnetic particles that just happens to be warm and chemically organic.
Is that what you believe!
They are about to decide this week if Pluto IS or IS NOT a planet.
And if Scientifically none exist, why do TWO of the our greatest scientists, Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawkings bolth give GOD credit in their books and speeches.
Both seem to agree that there might be more to the Universe than just Hydrogen Atoms.
Are you just Hydrogen atoms that happens to find a way to rationalize!

Randomly happen to find a way to communicate and become self aware.

The lower forms of life RAPE for propegation. Female Dogs and Cats don't willing lay down for male dogs, they get cornered and then mounted.

Without religion it becomes MAN against WOMAN. LEt's play politics. Man gets a choice. FREE SEX ANYTIME YOU WANT IT SIMPLY BY getting rid of the RAPE laws.
How about Prositution. How do NON-RELiGiOUS people deal with that concept.
Commercial sex. Anyway you like it for a fee.
Wonder how many women would finds MATES if MAN could get simple SEX for a $20 bill.
How many women would be taken out on dates. How many men would agree to see Sleepless in Seattle on those dates!

Men make up 51%, COMMERICAL SEX (PROSTITUTION) is allowed, ALL WOMEN mated or married to a man MUST PROVIDE HIM WITH SEX ON DEMAND.

There is NO CONSICOUS, because SCIENCE has not CONSCIOUS, it's just about a bunch of HYDROGEN ATOMS.

Religion soothes the sting of mortality.
It's difficult for most humans to accept death. Religion (among other things) brings people together into a group that can then distinguish itself from others. Any attempt for two groups to join together in harmony disrupts that innate need to be unique.

Because they are programmed to accept ready done answers so that they cannot be critical. Then they are led like sheep. We have become so stupid with the spells of mediocrity that we think if we are children of a shepherd it makes us the sheep. What is a tilers son? Tile? What good is a shepherd to a sheep but to fatten it for butcher? We want a god who 'shepherds' us! And a 'lord of host' - warlord to bring peace. We wash in blood and even drink it to stop bloodshed. Are we imbecilles?

In the words of Alanis Morissette: We all needed something to cling to, so we did. I think it's stupid when people fight over religion. Most religions (I think) are based on love. If it weren't for the need people have to prove they're better than others, I think we'd live in a more peaceful place.

I'm not sure converting others is the way to go - but actually science has proven that there are larger, cosmic laws that control the way things happen - and they havn't been able to explain the origin of this power. So your comment "...scientifically none of them really exist" is false.

God, in a way, gives us a guideline with which we are to live our lives. He gives order and supplies us with what we need to live. The people who fight over their beliefs are not doing the will of God. Rather, they're only trying to please their own ideas and opinions. If you take the time to learn the Bible and get to know Jesus Christ you'll see that most of what He taught is contrary to what people do or to what society in general thinks.

it's like asking yourself why do you have to wake up in the morning? eat, then go. don't you have a choice to just lay down all day long in the bed? but if you do you feel sick aren't you?
living things with brains gets up because they believe in something- maybe your thoughts today, from what happened yesterday or to lies in your future. these beliefs makes these "living things with brains" survive. it doesn't matter what anybody believes, may it sounds right or may it sound wrong, as long as they are alive, nothing else matters. life is what that really matters.
