I am considering purchasing the Canon SD 630. I am a consumer photographer that looks for image quality, portability, the panoramic scene mode, and overall build quality. I know the panoramic scene mode is really random, but I love it. Please make some suggestions and comments on the SD 630.

Ah, forgot to mention, I have considered a lot of the camera facts such as whether or not it has an optical viewfinder, but I want opinions on how it handles in real life.

I do not know about this one - but I have a Canon Power shot S50 from 2 years ago and it is amazing. It takes very crisp, professional looking pics with many features. I also have a canon manual camera from the 70s and it still works great! I don't think that you can go wrong with a Canon!
Good Luck!

Comcast shopping users rate it at 4.5 out of 5 stars. They really like the 3" LCD and picture quality, but the lack of a viewfinder forces you to use the LCD and this goes through batteries faster than they liked. An LCD viewer can be problematic on a bright sunny day and I think it would be nice to have an optical viewfinder to fall back on. A couple mentioned this, but some said that they had no problem in the sun.

I'm not really a pro on this, but my Father and me both have Sony cameras and they work great. I'm not sure the name of his, but he has so many settings to take the pictures with. He even has a special setting for landscapes, water scenes and snow scenes! It's really great. They last a long time too. I've had mine for about 2 years now and it still works pretty good. I'd look into it if I were you.

I will recommend the SD700 IS. Better zoom, 4x and has image stabilizer.
