If everyone would share the same goal of tolerance then there would be tolerance. Those who value tolerance need to lead by example and hope that their actions impact others to want to have the same goal.

No it's impossible. The whole basis of religious belief is intolerance of the other person's point of view, because, if they have a different belief, they are basically attacking your religion.
All religions are competing in the same marketplace and it is their own interests to have as many customers as possible so they try to grab market share from each other to maintain their expensive organisations.
When did you last hear of a religion going bankrupt.

1. Realise the difference between religion and spirituality
2. Encourage free thought.
3. Know that organised religion's goal is not God irrespective of what they preach
4. Bring up children teaching them the basic human values
5. Expose children to the realisation that God is one but paths are many
6. Shun schools which teach children that a single path is the only path and the best
7. Shift their thinking from monotheistic to polytheistic.
8. Realise that fanatics are trained deliberately by elders and the society for their own ends. Help in discouraging such efforts.
9. Finally, realise that children by them selves are the real God's creatures and it is we the elders who implant ideas of separateness in them.

I don't know if we could really 'do' something, other than tell everyone to mind their own business. Sure, it's ok to talk about religion to learn about it (if one desires) but it's NOT ok to push your own beliefs on other people. If we all minded our own bee's wax, maybe the intolerance would calm down a little. You're right, it's an ancient argument, literally! I like John Lennon's comment "imagine, no religion too". I don't think he meant that people shouldn't have relgion, they just shouldn't care about who does what. I have my beliefs and in my heart, I'm comfortable with them. I know others have beliefs too, and they are comfortable with theirs. The intolerance is so two-faced.

That is the problem with Catholics. The POPE decides NOT YOU!
Wtth the Protesants, WE decide, not some Minister, Bishop or Decon!
Unfortunately if you are a Catholic, you have to live with it or leave the relgion!
How long did it take to say Mass in YOUR language!
2,000 years!
How long did it take to be able to eat Roast Beef on Friday!
2,000 years!
Get my point!
Catholics are ORTHODOX, as such it takes a LONG TIME to change views and ONLY the POPE can make them real.
We protestants, we ordain women and gays and then go to the International meetings and try to get them to "officate it" or we lose and we break away from those OLD fuddy dutties.
Some, not all of us, can be LIBERAL or even RADICAL.
Jesus was a radical. He stopped people from stoning whores!
He went among the Lepars (spelling)
Jesus WAS radical!
If you as a Catholic get RADICAL you get called a HERETIC and get EXCOMMUNICATED and then all you can do is become one of us PROTESTANTS!
Sorry.
That is REALITY.

What makes you think this is a Catholic world? And we're not going to get rid of the intolerance that has been in existence for thousands of years. It is what has borne entire governments, countries and borders. It's not going away.

God's Word says: "As far as possible, be at peace with all men."
To me that means that I can find areas of agreement with most people from most religions. If I can stay in those areas, I can open a door for tolerance and respect.

all and sundry has their viewpoints. specific, muslims do have a tendency to get illiberal lots, yet it is as a results of fact they think of it relatively is nice. purely as a results of fact it relatively is no longer conventional in this area of the international, does not advise they are all loopy. you in addition to would would desire to seem at whilst the religion became into presented, at what age (in time), etc... there are particularly some people who're so set on their own targets and applications, they exclude all and sundry else's innovations/strategies/comments. There are additionally others who're unfastened to notwithstanding. God gave us 2 ears, and one mouth. purely hear to what others would desire to declare.

Nothing, if a religous person (no matter what religon) actually
believes and intends to abide by the rules of his religon then he is
obligated to practice it.
The muslims "bible" tells them to kill Infidels. (thats us).
Our bible says that Israel is Gods chosen people and that most of the middle east belongs to them, So you can see why "tolerance" isn't going to work.

Well, people could stop calling each other idiots.
Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[a]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[b]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.
