I know Scotland Yard actively looked for Jack until 1980 leading most observers to believe Scotland Yard had determined Jack the Ripper was actually a weird little boy.

Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who escaped conviction in London. Many people have traced his steps to find out his identity. One person in particular thinks that he was an artist who moved out of town for a while while continuing his killing spree and then returned to London. Her case was believable because she said this artist had commented that he had finished a portrait of Jack when a timeline shows he actually completed a self portrait. It also seems that he signed a hotel registry as Jack the Ripper.

Jack the Ripper.....was a bad a-s-s running around London at night, in the 1800s killing ladies of the night.... his method was to use a sharp blade knife..and slit the victims throat...it was thought that he could have been a well known Doctor....

As has been said before, he was never caught. The most popular theories are:
*That he was the doctor of one of the royal family, and he was covering the tracks of this particular male's paramours who he may have impregnated.
*That the killings were performed on the royal family's behalf, but actually as ritualistic killings by the Freemasons (this is the plot used in the movie "From Hell" starring Johnny Depp).
*That he was a random serial killer with medical knowledge who delighted in outwitting the police bent on his capture, but was ultimately sentenced for another crime which is why he quit killing.

from what i know, he was a murderer that killed prostitutes. he was also a doctor. he lured women with grapes which was considered a delicacy back in that day and killed them. he took out their female organs. then later he painted a picture of them only to be found about a century later. they never caught him until after they found paintings of all the women murdered and who painted them. jack of all trades. hmmm jack the ripper?
