Give yourself time. As a rule of thumb, your aim will be to lose 1~2kg per month. Also, inital losses during the first 2 weeks is usually water.

And when you say you eat less, I hope you don't mean you are starving yourself. If you are starving yourself, you'll end up fatter in the end as your body will lose muscle and not fat.

Get some cardio exercise. eg. walking, running, swimming for at least 30 mins. Best is to do it after waking up before breakfast. In that way, your body will use your body fat.

And do some resistance training like weights to build up some lean muscle. Muscle will increase your metobolic rate which in turns help you burn up your calories.

A couple things to keep in mind-
First- You've been doing this for less than a week. The only way you'll see results this fast is if your "diet" is an unhealthy one... hopefully unhealthy is the last thing you want!

Second- (and this is just my theory) Weight is rarely the problem- it's a symptom if a deeper body-chemistry issue. Solve the chemistry issue and the weight will resolve itself.

Go to a doctor, get a couple tests done- check for diabetes, thyroid issues, insulin resistance, at the very least. Tell your doc that you're wanting to loose weight, without medication, etc. You're willing to change your diet, lifestyle (activity level, aka- exercize). He/she will be more than happy to help you out with suggestions and hints.

Eating smaller portions, eating healthier foods, drinking more water- these are all good things to be doing, a great start- Keep going!!

Don't forget that losing weight takes time, do not get discouraged. It is a life time battle for some. Make sure you are eating the healthiest foods you like and not ones that you don't. If you eat more of the healthier foods that you like it will be easier in the long run. Check out spices at your local health food store they can make healthy taste great.

Also don't forget to excercise, you might not be losing a whole lot of weight but building muscle mass. Make sure you take measurements of your Bust, Stomach, Hips, Arms, and Thighs. If you are getting lean muscle this is a way to tell you are slimming down.

Don't pay attention to the scale often times it can become discouraging. Weigh yourself no more than once a week.

Good Luck

You cannot expect to see changes so soon. It usually takes 3-6 weeks to start to see a difference and FEEL a difference as well. Definitely look out for the "feeling" because that is what matters most. But I would say give it a good 6 weeks (and no cheating only once a week and if it is possible not to cheat at all, the even better) Good. Luck!

You said that you are eating less. How much were you eating when you started out? Maybe you need to eat less, or try a different type of "diet." Also, you didn't mention that you had been exersising, are you or arn't you? Try to write down all the exersize that you do and everything you eat, then figure out if you are working off the calories that you are taking in... if it is canceling out, then you may want to talk to a doctor. If it isn't you may want to eat less or work out more.

Try adding in some exercise. And remember, you didnt gain those pounds in 4 or 5 days, so you wont lose them that quickly either. A healthy weightloss consists of 1-2 pounds a week.

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.

But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.

So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Remember the above (not on site) and see site below to re-learn how to eat so you can be thin and fit for life.

hi
Please do not follow any fad diets as they tend to have severe side effects so instead try this simple plan so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
