If not, don't you think it's time that you do?

It is only illegal to deface currency if you do so with the intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued.

No, I haven't done that...mainly because I don't usually carry cash. I need to remember to do that when I have cash on me. Anyone who values separation of church and state and religious freedom should be in favor of removing the word God from both the pledge and money.

Frankly, as a person who doesn't believe in God, I could care less what is printed on our currency. The phrase, "In God We Trust" has never bothered me.

I do, however, find it tacky that the only reason why we added "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance in the 1950's was to emphasize our country's predominately Christian values over the largely Atheist philosophy of the Communists. The McCarthy era was truly a frighteningly embarrassing time to be an American, no matter what your faith.

Why should I?

US Currency is the official US deity.

The question should be do Christians not use paper money since it is the US's official God?

See the last three questions I posted.

Being an atheist is a stand on the epistemology (the knowability) of belief in some supreme being. It does not mean you have to be intolerant of the beliefs of others. What are you going to do, cross out the word god, faith, religion, etc. everywhere you find them, in all books, newspapers, when people talk? That would be silly--not to say futile.

Agnostic, but that sounds a bit retarded. For one thing it illegal to deface US currency, for another that sounds like something a 5 year old would do.

Are you suggesting that Atheist's need to be 100% consistent in everything they do?

Do you hold theists to the same standard?

When we try to kick God out of our country, our lives and our world, then imagine too all His many blessings on our country, our lives and our world also disappearing.

That may be what you wish for but IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN because God has already won over the powers of evil. God Bless America, God bless our world, and God bless each and every one of us....
