Why haven't your parents talked to you about this? If he is going to see an oncologist they should have sat down and talked with you about what is going on. An oncologist is a cancer doctor. My dad had to go see one. He had colon cancer. He had surgery last month and is doing great now. You need to talk to your parents.

You should be asking your parents this question, as an oncologist is a cancer doctor. But that doesn't mean that he has it, it could just be to make sure that something is NOT cancerous! Please don't just assume the worst talk to your parents so that they can fill you in on what is going on. Good luck!

Oncologists are physicians who study, diagnose, and treat cancerous tumors. They practice in hospitals and medical centers, university hospitals, and research organizations. If your dad is going to an oncologist, he may be suffering from cancer. cheers!

This does NOT mean that he has cancer
a lot of patients are sent to rule out cancer, in other words, to make sure he is cancer free before other tests are done
better to be safe than sorry
