It would be interesting to see the answers for I too am very interested... So far all I do is stretch on the floor and get into the position of doing the split and go down as far as i can I also lay on my bed with my butt on the wall so I am in a kind of "L" position and spread my legs slowly (no bouncing!) and let gravity pull them down (do this for like 5 mins, 3 times a day everyday.)... It hurts a bit but I am getting more flexible and I have only been doing this for a week! Each time I do it I go farther and farther. Also it will take anywhere from 4-8weeks to fully do the split depending on how limber you are and your determination. Good Luck!

I am a modern/ballet dancer and we constantly stretch at home to ensure that we remain flexible. My favorite way to stretch for the splits (and the most fun!) is when I watch t.v. at night. I usually watch an hour of t.v. each night, so during the show I'll just sit on the floor and lightly stretch out my feet, ankles, and legs. Then when a commercial comes on, I get into the splits and stay there until the commericial is over. In an hour of t.v. you'll get to stretch in the splits 4-6 times. This really works and it's not diffcult because watching your t.v. shows takes your mind off of it! Just remember to make sure your legs are stretched out enough PRIOR to staying in the splits during the commercials - you don't want to pull anything. Good luck :)

There are a seres of streches you can do. 1) sit on the floor, spred your legs as far as comfterbly posibole, posison your hands out in front of you and lean forwored, 2) squat on one foot and strech the other out to your sid as far as you can, then take both hands and reach for the out streched foot. 3) do a slow 3 to 5 count and releas slowly, repeat this 10 to 20 times and do it in sets of 5 to 10 rotating each exercise inbetween. (whatever you do do not do a bounsing motion in any posision espesaly wile streching. this can caus you to pull somthing and make for a vary un plesont day.) do these every other or every three days this will allow your musculs to redevelop and heal. streching everyday could caus some titnes in the areas you are trying to strech and do the aposit of what your trying to do
there are a number of streches you can do.
