You may be right, but I wonder how many of them have actually even tried to read the Bible. They are spoon-fed selected portions from the book, at church and at home, but they have never read the entire book. You would think that if they were aware of what an absurd, violent and misogynistic book it really is, they would no longer want to be Christians.

To be fair, there are much better arguements for modern Christians not being able to understand the bible than an overgeneralization about IQ
Edit: Firechap, are you REALLY saying that stupidity is a good thing? Most Christians dance around that foible in the bible about knowledge being evil, but you just blatently said intelligence is evil and dumbness is good (actually you didn't say the latter part, just that intelligence is evil). I don't think you or virtually anyone else wants to believe that the blessed children are the ones with the brain disease that stunts their mental growth. Though I suppose that would be a good interpretation for "the meek shall inherit the earth"

My triple digit IQ has noted just as many errors in non-Christian participants. Not to be rude, but try counting and keeping score. Maybe there's a ratio to be found.
No one totally understand the Bible anyway. Paul, writer of two-thirds of the New Testament pointed out "gray areas" where specific things weren't mentioned. On the other hand, it's also full of modern day scenarios that mirror our own lives. I'm guessing you have yet to pick it up. Again, I'm sounding rude, and I apologize.
God loves you.

OK, since your question is more of a bashing issue then a question, it really deserve no response other then the wonderful 2 points it gave.
I do wonder why people, such as you, hate Christians so much you wish to demean them? Maybe you are afraid of them? Maybe you are afraid that you have to accept that God does exist and that you will probably go to Hell.
I have a great faith of God and Jesus Christ as my savior. It takes faith to believe in Christ, as much as it takes faith not to.
God Bless You! May Jesus find his way into your life and change your heart!
By the way, the last time I had an IQ test, I scored a 154. So I guess it is not in the double digits.

Well, according to the USDOD, my IQ is around 180, but it doesn't matter. The truth is so simple a child can understand it.

Prove to me that actual Christians exist, and I will formulate an opinion on their supposed non-comprehension of the bible. Frankly, I have only ever witnessed or met "poseur-Christians", as none of them are actually Christ-like. Have a nice night.

I wouldn't be throwing IQ's around about others, until you acquire one for yourself. If, and when you should get one, maybe you will be able to understand the Bible.

How do you think you know so much? I think you are randomly generalizing and degrading. I am a Catholic and yes I can read. My IQ is only 131 but I think it is adequate to that task.

No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means.
