I think you do. Please keep taking them. Soon you will have a job and can get your own place and things will get better. I'll pray for you. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Depression is an insidious disease. You may not feel like you need them after taking them for a while because you feel better. More often though other people like family members continue to see symptoms. Trust your family in these matters. Hang in there I have some of the same problems as you do. BTW, depression doesn't mean your crazy, it just means your depressed. Depression is much the same as heart problems. Don't be ashamed of it.

OK are you taking it or not you are contradicting yourself. Anti-depressants are not something that you should play around with. You can't take them one day and not the next. You need to take them until your doctor says to stop.

If you no longer need them there are definite signs that you don't need your meds.

get a 7 day pill minder and take them at the same time and in the same place every day consistency is important to your therapy and remembering. Also, you need to be in counseling when you are on the meds. Go over this with your counselor.

Peace be with you.

well, you could take them in front of them, and prove that you are taking them. But the issue sounds like you are resistant to the medicine. If your doctor and parents want you to take them, maybe you should consider their advice. If the issue is side effects, maybe you shouldtalk to your doctor about other medicines. Many people need to try different ones before finding one that "fits"them. And if the issue is that you dont want to be "different", research exactly how many people are using medicine to improve their lives. I am not an automatic medicine advocate, but I have seen it help many people.

Join the club, my mom is trying to put me on antidepressants or put me in somewhere. They DO think I'm crazy, I ignore them even though I am depressed (beyond anything I've ever seen).

Your family is worried about you. If you are concerned about their accusations you could take your medicine in front of one of them every night. There will be no more accusations that way.

Most people who are going through what you are would be depressed, it is nothing to be ashamed of.
Take your medication and even talk to your doctor about upping them if they aren't working properly or perhaps talk to him about changing them.

I saw a special and it was talking about all the people that went through hurricanes Katrina and Rita and that the dept of mental health and retardation could not keep up with all the people who needed counseling and medication for depression.

so, do you take them, or not? cause you said you take them, but then you said you don't need them, which would suggest you don't take them...so do you see where your family would think that you're not taking them??
