If you mean drop, like on the side of the road, INSIST that she take them to a shelter where at least they will not be searching for food, water and a safe place. Does your mother realize what the chances of 6 week old kittens will have surviving on their own? In as little as two days, they could suffer from dehydration or be found by someone who doesn't like kittens. The chances of someone take all four kittens off the street is very slim.
Tell your mother she should take the responsibility to properly see that the kittens are taken where they can be placed for adoption, given vaccines, spayed and neuter.
ANYTHING LESS, COULD BE CONSIDERED A MISDEMEANOR AND IF IT'S NOT, IT SHOULD BE. THAT'S CRIMINAL TO DUMP ANY ANIMAL.

See if there is a rescue shelter locally in your neighborhood. Sometimes local Veterinarians know where they are or you can call pet-smart of feline friends. I think if you tell your Mom about these places it will make you both feel better. There are a lot of organizations out there that are kind and safe to animals. Don't let you take them to the pound, just do the research for you area. Taking the kittens to a rescue place can make you feel good and they should only place them in good homes. Good luck.

You mean your mother wants to dump your kittens No they won't be safe. Tell her not to do it. Call the humane society in your area and tell them you need to find homes for them. Run an ad in the paper for free kitten. People don't realize what happens to these little guys. If you dump them in the country they are not safe from preditors. In town they will probably end up being run over by a car. Your mother seems very irresponsible. You seem more adult. Most kittens and puppies who are dumped don't survive. Tell her also she needs to have momma cat spayed. Then she won't have to deal with this problem.

They are too!! little to be separated from their mother. Many cat books I read at PetSmart recommend 12 weeks for optimum benefits for the kitten's development (emotional and psychological). Drop off where? Animal Human Society or shelter are good places, as kittens get adopted fast. Good luck.

Try putting an ad up on Craig's list or a local bulletin board. If your mom know's that someone is going to adopt the kittens she will be more willing to keep them for another week or so. I like kittens to be 8 weeks before they are adopted, as otherwise they can come up with some odd compensating behaviors to make up for their early separation from mom. ( don't ask me how I know!)

You should be worried. People should NEVER just dump kittens or puppies somewhere. It annoys me to hear of people doing this. You need to take responsibility for your pets, and that means spaying them. She is adding to the overwhelming problem of animal control.
Your mom should try to find them homes. It isn't that hard really. My sister had a litter of kittens, posted them online and they were gone in a day. If all else fails, take them to an animal shelter or look up cat rescue groups, even in my small hole in the ground town we have them. There is no reason to just abandon them somewhere. Chances are, they will die or get hurt. Even if they don't, their life will be awful.

Please call a local shelter or SPCA. Kittens should not be taken from mom before 8 weeks but sometimes if they are advanced enough then they can survive without mom at 6 but this is not Ideal. I say call a local shelter and tell them that mom wants to drop them off and you want to make sure they are going to be ok and most times the shelter will tell you to bring them to them. Please do not allow her to just drop them off somewhere. Call shelter.

drop them off where? make sure she takes them to the humane society. i just got my kitten today who was only a few weeks old when she was abandoned. she is 7 weeks now. as long as they are weaned from thier mother then they should be ok. ideally you should wait till they are 8 weeks old to separate them.
