last year i bought an ipod, it was supposed to have a charge of 14 hours, but only performed for about 5 ...?

.....hours. i now have a nano....is there a certain way to charge the ipod initially, so that i can benefit from the maximum charge output...? thanx.

You may have misunderstood the initial directions. You need to give the battery an initial charge of no less than 14 hours. After that the charge time will very with use patterns.
