OF COURSE, it's safe. My brother and his family are flying to Anaheim, CA on Aug. 18. My sister and her family and my mom are joining them on Aug. 19. And we will be joining them on Aug. 20 from NYC to LAX.
My entire family EYEwitnessed 9/11. It was a VERY, VERY personal and painful experience for us. We are not fearful AT ALL. Please enjoy your freedom and fly wherever you please.

While I am not into alarmism, and I listen to rumours and alarmists cautiously and with a grain of sand.... I will be honest that "just in case" I would curtail my activities on august 21/22 a bit .... like I probably wouldn't fly ... but neither am I living in fear ... I have to be in another country during that time, (from what I live in), and I will do as I planned. Doesn't answer your question ... really ... cuz no one can tell you how safe things are .. but I agree that because o the rumours, there will definitely be heuightened security.

You have more of a chance of bad things happening from walking to the mall, riding in a car, biking around town than flying in an airplane. If you think of the thousands of monthly flights in this country and zero problems then you know this is an amazing record. Think more of the destination and fun you will have after you arrive than the flight itself. I am not the most comfortable flier, but I like to think this: for the minor discomfort, the plane flight is so much better than driving to the destination. The time savings is tremendous. Bring a good book or your favorite magazines to occupy your time in flight.

i imagine that airline go back and forth is most secure even as the regulations are the tightest. at present, protection on the airports is very extreme, so it truly is safer to fly at present than it turned right into some weeks in the past. there have been no crashes of yankee advertisement airplanes for a number of years now, via ways.

I hate flying. I absolutely hate it.
You will get a lot of answers citing statistics, etc but your fears will still be with you.
I don't know how old you are, but I take a tranq and some cocktails before I fly. Talk about smooth sailing!

Get over it. Maybe they'll try something, maybe not. That's the problem with terrorists, for them to keep people fearful they have to be unpredictable. I think if you have to fly its as good a day as any other.
