First know what is considered a sin. In generally we say that those actions we do that hurts others are sins. Then, always be mindful of your thoughts. That is, always know what you are thinking and if they are unwholesome then discard them and replace them with good thoughts.
Now a test, what are you thinking now and 5 minutes later.

you can't, Jesus did. All you can do is turn from it, hate it like God does, and put your trust in Jesus. You haven't gone through anything that anyone else hasn't already. Just look at some of the heroes of the bible and look at their lives (and their sins). But God called them righteous cuz He knows their hearts and He knows yours. Turn to the cross! It's all about what Jesus did for us.
