I'm having my wedding reception at my Dad's Campground. No fancy food just good home cooked food and we don't have to worry about going to a hotel or anything. I like the plain and simple things. Now I can be a girly girl when I want but I like to feel comfortable at the same time.

I think weddings need to reflect the personalities of the couple having it,
And should be personal to the couple.
Burgers and beer ,outdoors indoors fancy or plain, what ever works.

*laughing* It wouldn't work for everyone, but I think if people chilled out and went for more fun and less fussy that weddings and receptions would be more enjoyable. My sister had a very low key wedding with an appetizer reception at a friend's house. It turned out very lovely!

yes, yes, yes. We had pork chops served by the wonderful catering service Barbecue Buddies (a.k.a., the local pork producers in my county.) Gave wedding party one free drink ticket and had a great time dancing. Very low stress and not pretentious at all.

I agree. More relaxed atmosphere. I also recommend that after the ceremony. Get out of the Tuxes and dresses and just go casual. Cheaper 2

Ya but the girls all want to be "princesses" for a day in their flowing satin white gowns. How would that go with a cheeseburger?
