Because in past live you have ridicule and spoken bad about God's words, so you now reap the retribution of not able to pay attention and understand the Words being preached. You should pray and repent for your past sin, and this sleepy eye events will come to past.

Maybe too much partying the night before? Remember that God's Word works wonders and even if you are not concentrating, it's getting in there. Same with small children that are busy coloring or reading during church. It is amazing what the learn and are not aware of having heard it.

If it were the old days and the Holy Ghost fire was falling there would be no time for heavy eyes. The fact is todays churches are dead, no Holy Ghost Power, nothing at all.

sometimes people get tired or sleepy, because God's word isn't "exciting" or "appealing" to our senses and lives, BUT it is the only way to salvation, and even if it isn't the most "Fun", it is the most important>

BECAUSE HIS WORK IS LIKE MEDICINE AND DID YOU KNOW IF YOU READ HIS WORD RIGHT BEFORE BED YOU WILL SLEEP BETTER. IT COULD BE A SPIRITUAL THING GOING ON IN YOUR BRAIN AND THAT COULD MAKE YOU TIRED. BUT IT WILL STRENGTHEN YOU AS WELL
