Walking barefoot in freshly cut grass, getting green feet because the lawn wasn't quite dry yet.
Or weedeater clippings all over your pants and some in your hair.
Having those humid dog days of summer heatwaves.
Walking on you deck barefoot feeling the heat from the boards, or patio tiles.
Making buttprints on the porch while sunbathing after swimming.
Those ice-cream truck 'chimed songs' going around the park.
Apples on the tree, and fat chipmunks that steal them.
Weenie Roasts over a bonfire with friends camping out.
Cold beer floating in an iced cooler.
Playing "Marco Polo" in the pool.
Watermelon Slushies, and brain freezes.
Fireworks, Holiday traffic.
Resurfacing roads, and traffic delays.
(( Why do they HAVE to do that right before school starts??))
Sitting down on a curb, and you jump back up very quickly, because it's just too hot to sit on.
Eww that sweaty leg feeling on some plastic chairs, and the getting up and feeling as though a large portion of your skin remained on the seat.
Eating cold sandwiches instead of cooking a hot meal.
Long warm nights, when you just can't go to sleep because of the humidity.
Full Moon nights, It's just pretty to see outside. (I don't notice them so much through the cooler months.)
Tire swings.
Hanging clothes on an outdoor line to air dry.
Planning birthdays, and beginning school.
Fireflies
Opening windows for fresh air on cooler nights with box fans to circulate the air.
Weekend movie nights and babysitters.
Ordering Pizza Delivery.
Raspberry Ice tea.
Mosquitoes, Manilla candles.and bug zappers lights.

Buying all the great fruits and vegetables and cooking up scrumptious dishes! I live alone and so far this summer I made 3 blueberry pies (ate 'em all by my lonesome,too...), sugar cookies with fresh raspberry/white chocolate cream in the middle, tomato tarts with good goat cheese- I could go on but I won't. I love the lawns being mowed (the sound and the smell), the crazy thunderstorms, the birds in the morning and the crickets in the night. I love it all-smile. This was a nice happy question...PS No I am not overweight either.

I live in Texas and what screams summer to me is our 106-107 degree temperatures.
For us summers are horrible and most stay in the house under the A/C. It is even to hot for the kids to go outside and play this summer.

Oh and the other thing that screams summer for me is....... The extremely high electric bill that comes along with the high temps...

Sitting on the front porch at sundown, eating ice cold Watermelon (It has to be in the freezer for 2 hours before eating it), and having a seed-spitting contest.

Lemonade, ears of corn, fresh strawberries, grilling on the grill, county fairs, lounging outdoors, warm swimming pools, bare feet, lighting bugs. So much more-best time of the year

Sitting on the beach from about 5:30pm, just when everyone is pretty much clearing off the beach. You can hear the waves crash, the birds and the wind blow. You can feel the hot sand cooling off. It looks so pretty and you can still feel the hot sun! I stay on the beach just until it's getting a bit dark.

Tourists. I live near DC and you know it's summer when the Metro trains are packed full with people and their roll around luggage and cameras around their neck.
