My daughter left this afternoon, and is now in Great Lakes Illinois at the Naval training center. Just wondered if anyone else had this experience recently. No contact for a couple of weeks, and I will be on pins & needles waiting to hear from her. I will worry how she is getting along. I also would like to write her, but have no clue of her address. Any answers??

No sons or daughters (too young at the time)
However I have two young guys I worked with that went to boot camp, to bases out of the state.
It took a us about 2 weeks to get a letter from either one of them. Considering we are in Pa & the one guy is in TX & the other is in CO. .. It was no surprise.
Don't worry you will here from her soon. At 1st communication is hard to keep up with for them... So don't be offended if she can't write as often as she would like.. She is truly busy & tired!
After about 6-9 weeks .. You will be able to talk on the tele once & a while & her life will get a little bit easier.. & she'll have time to write... Eventually she will get to email you too!
Just Hang in there. Just pray for her & give over your worrys to the Lord.. He will give you comfort. In the mean time I will be praying for you & your daughter. She is brave & I admire that!
God Bless you & your family!

As consistent with a prior answer, purely a fool would think of that transforming into a member of the protection rigidity is an argument of determining on the protection rigidity over you. that is like announcing 'my boyfriend chosen getting a activity so we are able to consume and function a place to stay over being homeless with me and letting me starve'. he's not determining on between you and the protection rigidity, he's determining directly to do something which will earnings you the two. That stated, in case you are able to no longer cope with this form of couple of minutes being faraway from him, you're some distance too needy and clingy to be a protection rigidity significant different. If training is purely too long to be aside for you, think of a fifteen month deployment. If it is purely too lots subject for you, seek for help with different protection rigidity spouses and important others or end the relationship now. it relatively is going to do neither of you any stable so you might exchange into the standard cheating female buddy or spouse.

Go to the website that I posted below. There are a bunch of young kids that are DEP, on their way to boot, or their parents are worried about their child in boot camp.

They should be sending a quick canned letter home with the address, probably no phone call for quite awhile, but don't worry about her. She's in the same boat as all of the other recruits.

No sons or daughters here either but I know that you should get her address soon if you haven't already. I've heard of recruits writing home and telling their family of their addresses that way too. Good Luck to the both of you and before you know it, she'll be graduating.

Yes. New service members may spend a couple of weeks in a reception center. Talk to your daughter's recruiter about her address. The recruiter is probably your best source of current information about what you can expect.

Relax..The Navy isn't going to let you contact her till after boot anyway. Unless there is a problem she will be cut off from home till then. It's all part of getting her acclimated to Navy life.

And Thank You for your service to your country. Letting your child serve is a something to be proud of.
