I have a 4 year old male Husky. When I came home this evening I noticed that he is limping, I cant tell which foot or feet it is, he tries to get up and falls back down. My husband looked all over him and he couldn't find anything. The dog doesn't cry when he touched him either. His nose is wet, and he has plenty of water. He hasn't eaten, because he has not moved from that spot this evening. Obviously I didn't find this until after our vet was closed. Anyone have any ideas what this is? Please give any possibilities that you think it might me.

I just went out to check on him and he would raise up on his front legs, but would not get off of his hind end. I tried to call him to me and he would just sit there looking at me. He isn't crying when I touch his back legs, and I don't visually see anything. I can not get the vet to answer the after hours number.

i have had two huskies and that sounds similar to what happen to one of them ..after xrays and all the best the vet could tell me was it was like a football injury because of al the running must of step inbetween a grove between the grass or sidewalk or just hit it the wrong way. these dogs are also exceptible to alot of hip problems because of the way they pull and also the way they sit . best bet is to go get xrays to rule out hip displacement or what ever the fancy name for it is cant think right now sorry hope your huskie is fineOh i was also told to give the dog aspirin when it hapened and she seemed alot etter the next day....

I'm wondering if your Husky may have a broken pelvis. It's a fairly common fracture if he might have been hit by a car. The good news is, they generally heal pretty well - the bad news is, he'll be more or less immobile for a bit.

I'd give him some boiled chicken (pick it off the bones) mixed with rice, in case he's nauseous - hand feed it to him if necessary to make sure he gets some nutrition, and make sure he has access to water. I'd also move him inside to make sure his temperature is kept stable in case he's in shock - and get him to the vet asap in the morning.

Good luck to both of you!

do you know the name of the vet? if you feel it is truly an emergency, you may wish to look him up in the phone book, or try a vet in a nearby town. If by any chance he has a cut anywhere or some white, puss like substance, he may have tetnis, but if you live in a town this is very unlikely. perhaps some sign of lock-jaw? i don't think you have to worry toooo much until morning, but i can't tell you anything for sure, you might have to just wait till the morning, perhaps stay up with your dog if necessary

I think it may be his hips. Early signs of arthritis.....check with your vet as soon as you can. Right now, keep him comfy.
