Italy, Germany/Austria, and Russia. Although the US has had some amazing music in the early 20th century.
Italy: Verdi; Puccini
Germany/Austria: Brahms; Bruckner; Wagner; Mahler; Strauss;
Russia: Rachmaniniov; Tchaikovsky;
20th Century-Scriabin(Russia); Ives(American);Schoenburg(Austrian); Berg(Austrian); Copland(American); Gershwin(American)
And there are many others.
