No. You can be a christian and not go to church. It's not like the only place God comes to is Church... It's hard to still be christian w/o going to church, but it can be done.

God Bless

My husband and I stopped going to church 14 years ago, because we knew that it was what we were supposed to do, and we have been literally verbally attacked by Christians using that scripture, forsake not the assembling together of the saints.

I tell them the scripture were Christ says, "were 2 or more are gathered in my name, I am there in the midst of them."

My husband and I are a church, so to speak, and are being taught 24/7 by the Holy Spirit and that is a far better deal than 3 times a week from a pastor.

It is so clear to me now why we came out....Our compassion and love is so much greater for humanity than when we were involved. And the spiritual growth has been amazing.

A little word study for you. The word (eklesia) most often translated "church" in the bible doesn't mean "a religious club that gets together to sing and listen to a guy speak on Sunday morning." It means, "The Called Out Ones." It is a group of people that belong to Christ, not an event that it is possible to attend. Your location on Sunday morning has absolutely zero bearing on your salvation. However, if you don't know this, you are in danger. You better dig into your bible. And you will find that having others to pursue God with is very encouraging at times. Not always, though!

You need to go for the encouragement you receive. There is also a sense of community. When one person is going through a hard time the others are there for him and try do what they can to help. It's great to be at both the giving and receiving of the church family's love and care for you. Sometimes we think we have to be "good enough" but that is lie from the devil. We've always received both loving teaching from God, from God's church and joy that true fellowship brings.

Church is good, but as long as you study god's word and keep Jesus as your lord and savior is the most important things to do. If you can drive to church or go w/ other friends or family that would be great since you are showing god that you want to grow closer to him, but if you really can't go to church then it's ok also>

Going to church doesn't make you saved, faith in Jesus Christ does. (Praise the Lord!) So don't worry about that. But I would encourage you to go to church so you can grow spiritually and learn new things. Also, it is important to get into a small group of people your age to study the Bible and so you can know people who can help you in your walk with the Lord. "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25 NIV)

Much love.

Of course not. We are saved by our faith in Jesus Christ. But let me share something with you. I left church for a very long time, after I was a teen and until I was almost 40! Then someone brought me to a Calvary Chapel, which is an excellent bible teaching church that is also very alive with joy, because they LOVE Jesus...and they praise and worship and learn about Him with such devotion!

In the ten years I've been going, my life has turned around over and over again. What wonderful things I have seen, heard and learned. Please consider finding a church that will bring this kind of joy and learning to you....it's a wonderful part of my life.

No, though you will certainly suffer a lesser life outside of fellowship with other believers. If you are getting that through other means like at a coffee shop, and you're not just parroting each others ideas (without some disagreement your ideas will never get sharper) than that can be a as much church as a more orthodox setting. But remember Jesus instituted the church for a reason, for your benefit.

If Jesus is your Lord and your Savior, how could you go to H*ll?
That said, however, why don't you go back to church? You'll grow spiritually, have fun, and make new friends. Plus, if you are a child of God, the church isn't complete without you!
Blessings to you!

No, church always gives me the aura of closeness, much more than when I don't. I went to church the other week to a christening and it was overwhelming but I do not believe you need to go. You only need an open heart and prayer even in thought, god can hear your every thought, feel your every feeling so even where you are sitting and reading the rambling I write, you can be heard by god

We love from our heart; you have an open heart, God Bless You xx
